Perennial "weed" that can grow to five feet tall. It has a distinctive aroma and deeply lobed leaves whose undersides have soft, whitish hairs. flowers occur in clusters at the top of the plant.
Planting
Thrives in fallow or "waste" lands in sandy, open ground.
Prefers lime rich soil
Flowers summer to fall
Greenery available most of the season
Harvest
Clean branches without water and removed damaged and dead leaves. Hang in a bundle in a dry, dark area for a few weeks.

A bundle of dried branches can be burned to keep insects away
Used to treat unease and general malaise.
Can be used to treat cardiac complaints.
Can be used to expel parasitic worms.
Toxic in high amounts or under prolonged use.

Planting

It prefers temperate, loamy soil with partial shade, but can flourish in a variety of conditions.
Harvest
Loses aromatic potency once it flowers.
Leaves should have a bright green color.
Should be dried by cutting just before or right as flowers open.
Cut one-half to three-quarters of the way down the stalk.
