Spawn Survey Thread - Please Vote [Finished early due to errors]

For warning
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a survey to determine the ultimate sentiment of the playerbase. While the end results of the survey are necessary to determine the direction of the server and spawn, staff will have ultimate say over what actions, if any, are taken in regards to spawn. Please answer completely and honestly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, with that clarified, let's begin. As mentioned in the thread a few days back here, we had a discussion and brainstormed over various ideas as to what the nature of spawn should be. With this survey, we hope to gauge what you, the players, want to see out of spawn.

This vote is entirely based on 'macro' spawns. What this means is that this is essentially a choice between "spawn and no spawn" as well as the size of spawn. The nitty-gritty stuff, like what goes into each spawn, will come later. So, for instance, let's say that you want a small spawn. That's great, but will it be a camp, or a port, or an inn. That will all be decided at a later date.

I have made it so that you cannot see the end results of the survey until such time that everyone has voted and staff moves on to the next level of voting to determine the specifics of spawn. This is so as to dissuade anyone from voting by sheer popularity. I have also configured the vote to be a ranking system. So be sure to fully rank everything, from your most-desired option to your least-desired option.

If you pick 'Other - Please describe', be sure to comment in this thread with that other idea. Just make sure that it's a macro spawn suggestion and not a micro suggestion, such as what buildings or what type of layout. That comes later.

At the risk of sounding clueless... Is the lowest number the highest priority or is the highest number the one held with most regard?

pretty sure it's in order of how much you want them, meaning 1 = first priority = best

Essentially what this is, is a weighted system that assigns values to each choice. Meaning, that a player may not have their top choice 'win', but their second or third choice may. It's a more equitable and fair distribution of voting.

Just out of curiosity (and interest in seeing the results), when's the end date for the survey?

Originally it was going to be a week, but I'd rather see more people be able to vote, so likely two weeks to give people some time. In fact, I'll just say that it's until May 1st to give it a nice, OCD-present ending.

I picked Other as my 2nd option.

If we're talking about the Crossroads as it currently is, I'd suggest leaving it as is with some buildings added for factions to use for recruiting. These come with certain criteria. If you meet that criteria and are able to get one of hte Crossroads builds, it literally becomes a place where thee roads cross in that each gets a free warp to their city. Requirements for obtaining one of these would be maintained and the spot could be lost meeting the criteria falls below standard.

Allows for more purpose to the Crossroads. The Divine Law states that everyone has to go there anyway, so it's an enterprising way for people to ICly take advantage of that and have recruitment buildings for different cities, kingdoms, factions, guilds, etc.

EDIT: Essentially, macro idea is a spawn with free teleports to certain player towns.

But my number one option was for a large Port Silver 2.0 in the future. Maybe not right at this second, but down the road maybe. In my opinion, our numbers can't sustain ghost towns spread out, like we're trying to do. As nice as some of the towns are, we can't have healthy RP if RP can't be found due to niche groups of five people never leaving their tiny 5 person town.

My 'Other' describes something like the small town option, but incorporating some sort of Gypsy Camp arrangement as in the previous world to account for the travellers and newcomers from elsewhere and refugees from the ruins of Port Silver.

Helpful reminder to updoot the first post with the vote instructions~
My thanks, considering I was in a hurry to get to work.

I picked Other as my 2nd option.
I probably should have added 'leave as it is,' but the general vibe we got from people is that a change seemed necessary.

My 'Other' describes something like the small town option, but incorporating some sort of Gypsy Camp arrangement as in the previous world to account for the travellers and newcomers from elsewhere and refugees from the ruins of Port Silver.
But Cherry, my dear, that would be included under 'small' or 'medium' spawn. The nature and layout of spawn would've been determined in a later vote/brainstorming thread.

My "Other" is a build designed to organically grow with the amount of use - entails making a full design for a small, medium, and large city as well as 'builds under construction' with scaffolded buildings and cranes for different stages.

It's ranked lower because, while it would be amazing for immersion and buildup, it'd also be /way/ more work.

My other is not really minding any particulars as long as it makes logical sense for people of all races and creeds to visit and fits in the lore.

My other is expanding the space between Sorrowstown and Crossroads with all the things you'd find in a real city, interactive buildings and the ability to own property. Agency, since that's the word of the day.
