Yes.

6. Please provide a lengthy in-character introduction.
"Ul!", the voice echoed in the night, deep and powerful.
"Coming!"
Ulgarth knew better than to keep his father, Rakan Strongoak, waiting. Like all of the Strongoaks, for as long as people could remember, he was built large, with rugged arms and short, muscular legs. Of five siblings, Ulgarth was the only exception to the rule. Tall, with a slender build and long blond hair, he looked just like his mother did.
It didn't take him long to reach the house: modest farmers, their lands were small and it didn't take more than a few minutes to walk from one end to the other.
His father was seated in his chair, at the end of the table, a paper in his hands.
"Sit down, son." Rakan spoke in commands. He would have made a fantastic sergeant at arms in another life. Ulgarth obeyed, while cleaning his hands best as he could.
"What is this about, father?", asked Ul, not too unhappy to dodge the last hour of work.
"This, Ul, is a paper from Port Silver. Your mother's brother, your uncle Silio, has died. And he has left us a small sum."
There had never been any kind of love between Rakan and Silio. The first valued hard work and building things he could touch. The latter invested in merchant ventures. While not immensely rich, he had amassed a small fortune and lived comfortably in a villa in Port Silver. Ul, however, had some affection for his old uncle, spending a few weeks every summer with him, in the capital.
"Well, father, isn't that... good news?"
"Death is never good news., he paused, frowning and looking at his son.
Although it solves problems."
"Problems?"
"Oh, don't give me that innocent look of yours. Deban's daughter is pregnant and it's your doing. Now, they've been asking for you to marry her and I was going to agree."

"was?"

"Deban approached me with another solution a few nights ago, at the inn. He boasted that he'd let go of the matter if we were to pay him for what the baby - hopefully a son - will cost to raise. This money, your uncle's death, will help pay for your adventures."

Ul couldn't help but let go of a sigh of relief.
"Don't be too happy so quickly. Your mother - the Blind Queen guards her - was right: you were not meant for life on a farm. This is your opportunity. You will be given a sixth of what your uncle left us. We will be using the rest to settle the debt with Deban and expand our lands so that your brothers can inherit enough to live on."
Ulgarth felt uneasy. He had always hoped he could one day escape from this but it was happening all too suddenly, brutally even.

"Fath..."
"No need for words."
They both stood up. Others would have hugged but how do you hug a tree? They shook hands. As Ulgarth headed for the stairs and his room, Rakan added:
"One last thing, you'll be going to Port Silver tomorrow. You are to get the money at your uncle's villa. One of his associates wants to see you too. Paro will be ready."
The mention of Paro made Ul smile. Paro was their most stubborn donkey, almost the size of a horse, with the mood of a demon.

That night, Ulgarth didn't sleep. He thought about his uncle. About the many summers in the capital, of the friends he had made. Of the girls he had met. As the sun rose, he thought of his mother. Packing his bags, he remembered what she told him whenever he went away:
"Travel light. Stay hungry."
He brought some bread, a few apples, some clothes and a pouch of wine and headed for Port Silver.

7. Please introduce yourself to the community; explaining who you are, what your interests and/or hobbies are and why you would like to be a part of our community in around 8 sentences or more. You do not have to disclose any personal information if you don't want to, but we'd just like to know what kind of person you are.
I'm an avid role-player: I've been playing RPGs for fifteen years now. I grew up with D&D, StarWars and Shadowrun and the core group of friends I made fifteen years ago are still my friends today and we still RP together (they might actually join this server). I love theatre, literature (esp. medieval and renaissance lit) and almost everything med-fan.
Music wise, I prefer poet singers (there was a strong movement in France: Brassens, Brel, Ferrat, Ferré, to only quote those names), classical and folk music. But really, as long as the musicians are good and I like the texts, I'm open to everything: from punk to rock to celtic folk, etc.
Aside from that, I have a degree in History and I'm almost done with my degree in French Literature. Assuming all goes well, I should become a French teacher next year (native language).
Oh and I like cats but don't have any because my landlord is an evil man.

8. Do you have any examples of your work and creativity, either in minecraft or outside? You can attach them to this post using the "upload a file" button or link to the image or video.
The texts I've written are in French: I generally don't roleplay much in English, even if my English is decent enough I suppose. This is an interesting experience for me.

As far as minecraft goes, no. But I'm a decent builder.

9. Is there anything else you wish to share with us?
Your server seems to be a lively and interesting place. I admire your dedication to roleplay and strict admission rules.

10. Are you aware that the use of black magic (xray, xray texture packs and ore locator mods) is not allowed on our server, and a banishable offense?
Burn the witches, hang the cheaters.

11. How did you find out about our server?
Server lists.

12. Have you voted for us? (Click Here)
Not yet. I prefer to test first. Although if I like it, I'll likely vote every day. I did that for my former server.

Great application!

I'm pleased to announce your application has been approved. I hope you enjoy your stay in Altera. Before logging on make sure you read the Survival Guide. It will help you on your way to get established in our World. If you need to know any additional information, everything can be found in our Tome of Citizenship. Make sure you consult either of these two before asking a question ingame.

You are probably eager to jump into the game, so there is no need to read all the links. Just use these as a reference for later.

Lastly, please make sure you understand the following points. It's very important. As a new player, once you play you may be tempted to "test" out an x-ray mod... don't do it! We have a zero tolerance policy for it.
1) We have active members of staff monitoring players suspected of using X-RAY. We have extensive logging capabilities which also highlight to us when X-RAY is suspected. Anyone caught using X-RAY mods or Transparent Texture Packs will be permanently banned without appeal.
2) Anyone found to be griefing our server and subsequently blaming their sibling, friend, dog or any other person other than themselves will be banned irrespective of their innocence.
