I wrote this a bit back. Seems fitting to dump it in a thread like this.◌ Common Knowledge Things Your Character Would Know ◌
- Some say the Gods walked among us long ago. Their presence helped shape the world, but there came a time where they no longer visited the world of men. Some say by their own choice and others say because they were weakening. Who is certain which, however?
- There is magic in the world, but it is rare. So rare, in fact, that seeing it would likely be a shocking sight! Only those who are able to find the elusive teachers can pursue the arcane arts.
- It isn't unheard of for some resilient souls to be revived after dying! Few know how it happens exactly or who does it, but there are likely answers for those who pursue the question.
- The Northern Kingdoms were overrun by undead, although it wasn't until just before the fall that the undead even appeared.
- The Divine Law is widely upheld and well-known among the people. Worshiping anything or anyone outside of the Pantheon is considered heresy. (You can read it in the Official Lore forums linked above!)
- There are some races whose numbers have dwindled so severely that they are a rarity to see. The Nakam, Greylings, and Earthspawn are part of a dying race, so befriending one would be quite an honor.
- Alchemy is a widely practiced science. Some ingredients are hard to obtain, but finding an alchemist to purchase potions should be easy. Just be warned. Many potions come with adverse side-effects, so do be careful of overusing them.
- Some people experience aging differently. A child can sometimes grow to adolescents while some adults have only aged a few years. It is a strange phenomena that no one truly knows how to explain.
There's a wealth of knowledge out in the world, but sometimes it is best to pursue some questions in-character!
