Metagaming is the act of using knowledge your character doesn't have, which you have gained OOC (out-of-character), for any purpose. Metagaming often has several scales of how bad it is. It's probably not so bad to metagame a friend's location so you can meet up and RP, so long as you're not acting like you magically knew they were there, but identifying that the evil baron poisoned someone because he let it slip in discord by accident isn't okay, for example. I haven't done much RP in minecraft since I was a kid, though.Referral: PMC ________________________________________ {Character Section} Character Name: Marie Fletcher Age: 19 Race: Human, Anhalder Appearance: Marie appears as a young woman wearing the average clothing of the peasantry. She has short-cut, brown hair and dull-toned green eyes. There's a youthfulness about her, including freckles and an occasional slight smile. She's the air of someone more than a little timid, about her. (Optional) Picture of the Skin: Written Test (Min: 400 words): Marie stepped through the doorway, lightly ducking underneath a twisting bramble of decorative plants. She grimaced, as if a foul scent found her nose. Her expression shifts, likely as she realises that it's just a potent alcohol, then ducks right back out of the building, as quickly as possible. Stepping back through the door, she stared up at the sky, having momentarily forgotten just how pouring the rain is at the moment. With a hefty sigh, she tugs her backpack tighter over her shoulder, then rushes down the road, to find somewhere a little more tuned to her sensibilities. She takes momentary shelter underneath a small pavilion, shielding from the rain for just long enough to ensure she's dry. With a clumsy hand, she reaches into a bag, and retrieves a small sheaf of some papers - and two sketches of a pair of individuals, a man and a woman. The man has the gruff expression, design, and grimace of a brigand, while the woman is dainty and soft, and bears a striking resemblance to Marie. Her eyes scan the papers, as she gives a hefty sigh with a deep frown, before she scrunches the paper back up, turning to peer across the rain-darkened street. This town, too, proved pointless. She waits for a few minutes, for the rain to let up, but when it doesn't, she simply grimaces and places a hand onto the sheathed hilt-and-handle of her shortsword. Cydonia turned out to be pointless, so next... More scrambling. She finds a map, eventually, and pulls it up, pressing it against a mildew-and-damp-infested stone wall. Gross, but whatever. With a slight furrow of her brow, she scans the map, one finger pressed against the canvas to trace a drawn red line between villages - and a fair few large red X marks to cross out potential locations. A few places have strange little flourishes, the word 'magic?' is scrawled underneath a few. To any passerby, it's difficult to tell just what this map's about. Marie, at least, figures out what she wants, hastily re-folds the map, and stuffs it away. The young woman sniffs, leans halfway out of the shelter, and figures she'd better get a move on. Well-worn boots trudge through a muddy thoroughfare, out towards the exit of the town. Maybe, if she's lucky, the next place she visits will serve more to what she needs. It had better, anyway. Talk of Storm's Landing tells that it's a melting pot of such size and diversity that she'll find one of her three goals here - signs of her mother, signs of the man she's chasing, or signs of a mage. Maybe, finally, something will go her way.
