- HOSTING EVENTS
CHECK LIST -

__________________________________________

You want to hold an event, but you're not entirely sure on some parts of hosting it or what might be required? This thread should outline events and what you need to do, or where you can look for more information. This thread is subject to edits and additions - If there are questions in the future I can get them added below. Hopefully this helps!

EVENT TYPE
══════════════════
First, you need to decide what event you wish to organise. If it is a marriage, or a festival, or something 'mundane' and if it does or does not require a DM for it. There is generally no limitation on what events you can hold, but there are things to consider if you need extra assistance on it by DM or Staff in general. There is a list at the bottom of the thread for ideas, but if you are unsure, just poke one of the Events Committee members.

LOCATION
══════════════════
While you are free to hold events as you like in your own regions, sometimes you do not own a region or wish to hold it elsewhere. You should get the permission of the region owner if applicable, and if it is out in unclaimed land then ask one of the [ Events Committee ] members for approval instead. We can create temporary regions for you to build on before removing it, but you must use [ Player World Edit ] in order to build properly.

DIVINE
══════════════════
If your event is Divine in nature, you do not require special approval unless it is something not mundane, in which you can speak to a DM. For more help, see the Divine section.

FINDING A DM
══════════════════
In some cases you may find you wish for a DM to play the part of a chosen beast, or to oversee a hunt, or to play some of the restricted bestiary entries. You can put out a request to the playerbase, or see if the Event Team is available.
LOOT & ARTIFACTS
══════════════════
In many events, you may decide that it'd be good to have some kind of loot or reward at the end. Whilst this is fine, it should be approved by your DM/Events Team if it is something like steel weaponry or armour, or something more 'rare'. Generally speaking its good to send in a ticket if you're after loot, mundane or not, because it's spawned in stuff.

EVENT EXAMPLES
══════════════════
There are a great variety of events and sometimes it helps to have a list of what you can and cannot use. It should go without saying that you must RP out things properly and cases of breaking lore may result in you not being permitted to DM further. Unintentional lore breaks won't be punished- We may coordinate to resolve it instead. You do not need permission to do things such as festivals or weddings, nor for bandits/everyday people, these are considered mundane.

UNRESTRICTED
[x] Atmospheric/Weather Emotes
Emotes of the atmosphere or weather are fine providing it is not an unusual storm appearing out of nowhere.
Animals and creatures not on the bestiary are free to use, but several of the threads now have information on if you can play them. You must get approval if you seek loot, however, from the HC plugin. Animals such as wolves, bears, etc are fine but animals are limited to a european setting. Generally real-world equivalents are fine to use.
This includes: Many Fauna except*
Some entities of the supernatural variety are free to use, but you should ensure you know the lore on them well and how they're dealt with prior to use. This information has been added to their respective pages.
This includes: Apparitions, Ghosts, Wraiths, Shades
You may use individuals in events without permission.
They can exist and roam in both the Eastern Continent and the Sorrows.
[x] Elementals
If you'd like to play a tiny fire elemental that's occupying a fireplace in a public tavern that ends up causing havoc enough to threaten to burn it down, by all means. Elementals can also cause larger region-wide issues, such as hurricans, wildfires. Elementals cannot be treated as pets by ordinary mortals and shouldn't be DM'ed that way. If you'd like to use more powerful elementals, contact the events team. Remember - they can't talk, but communicate through emotions.
[x] Events hosted in Sorrows and the Hellscape. Odd/strange magical influences in locations due to high Planar Convergence
[x] Mundane illnesses, plagues, diseases and [from this List]
You can make a contained plague in your region, something known in the medieval times or older.

[x] Demonic Fauna / Lesser Fiends
There are small remnants that players can still DM in the world. But the majority should only exist in the Hellscape.
RESTRICTED
If you'd like to utilize any of these, send in a brief proposal in an Event Ticket.
[x] *Garulfs
[x] Divine/Patron Entities
[x] Blessed/Arcane Users of Tier/Echelon 2+
[x] Titans/Archfiends/Figments
[x] Cognitive/Planar/Realm Beyond

[x] New Flora/Fauna

A more open list of options to DM with is released now. Player DMs can utilize more of the Lore in their events without requiring approvals from events.
There'll be more adjustments to come.
