A young Adelpha depicted by a commissioned artist. It's a part of a collection of the Empara family.

The tale of Adelpha Empara is a tale passed down by generations of Amazons. The woman is seen as a legend among
them and her memory coveted. To understand the Amazons, you must first understand her.

Adelpha was a citizen of Asrakos a long time ago, one of the youngest in a line of successful merchants. The Empara family had long been known as an exporter of exclusive goods from the town state, which garnered the attention of many of its enemies, as well as bandits and thieves. This eventually led to robberies and heists within the town, many of which were left largely unchecked. Adelpha herself was a rather influential figure within the acting sphere and lead many of the plays in the town.

During a performance of hers, a group of criminals stormed the open theatre intending to kill Adelpha. Her younger brother Aretos died in efforts to save her, though the actress didn’t escape without injury; she had been struck and the injuries caused her to lose her unborn child.

The grief and pain that Adelpha felt were too overwhelming for her, and so she left her job so she could recover. She was welcomed with open arms by many of the widows and grieving women of Asrakos, many of whom had suffered similar losses. Adelpha was horrified by this pattern and looked back to her plays and epics for solace, many of which contained powerful figures fueled by righteous revenge.

Archegete Adelpha in full armor. While a rare sight, this form of the Amazon leader caused much controversy.
When she realized that Asrakos didn’t care about the women it said it was protecting, Adelpha took matters into her own hands. She started a small group with a few other women called the Amazons, based on the ancient myth of Amaria, a reconnoiter who infiltrated countless enemies through her acting and spying skills. The ladies began to make their way into the large bandit hordes and took them all down, one by one.

Subsequently, the Amazons began to gain traction. More and more women were joining and more crime was taken care of. Naturally, this piqued the interest of many of the noble houses, the House Herenii being the first to officially endorse them. As they grew more, traditions began to be witnessed within them, such as a yearly parade held on the last day of Fogwater.

I've been using Amazon for years and have also spend thousands of pounds. But the service is just not next-level.

Really good at resolving everyday stuff, but the problem here is that's as it should be. I'm spending my money, and part of that should be a basic level of customer service.

The real test is that second-line stuff. And they are just very bad at it.

I had an issue with an order which they cancelled. Fine. Protecting my identity whatever. I was told a specialist team would contact me in 24 hours. I got an email explaining it and to try the order again.

Second order a few days later. Cancelled again. Called. In 24 hours a specialist team will be back in 24 hours. Nothing.

Not a big deal, but I've now had to place a number of late orders with another retailer. So that's the knock on effect this kind of thing has.

The problem is they deal in inputs rather than outcomes. They want to shift query volume by throwing quick fixes at them, when actually underlying problems remain with no corresponding outcome.

Just hope nothing goes wrong, because when it does, they know how to make it worse.

If you want 5 starts from me, sort it out.
