also sally any chance you could do some sort of guide or at least hints and tell us what you use to do these? Im doing graphical novels in college atm as part of my course and need to be able to do my own art work for it and I ain't exactly good at this stuff atm :L

My only 'art skill' is my search-fu.

Admittedly it can turn up results after hours of searching for just the right image. It was so fun trying to preserve-but-update myself. Case in point (Because I don't think the avatar does it justice):
