Top Five Best RP Moments

What's your top five BEST moments of RP? Either it was something you enjoyed watching, or something you did that was really amazing, or a very heartfelt feelsy RP. Whats your favorite RPs? (I also think there's a ton of these threads in existence, but I can't be bothered to dig them up)

  1. Erikor being escorted out of the Port Silver slaver base unbound. Feeling that one of the slavers was on his side. Debating on making a run for it at the Crossroads or following them onto the boat, and trusting what Ardaric Tideborne had said. He ended up trusting Ardy, being put into a pitch black cell, and nearly starving to death if his hated sister hadn't broken him out the day before the OOC death timer ran out. solus godfather1

  2. Also with Erikor. His mother was exiled from Grafjell and Erikor and his father, Vatticus, had agreed that Rihya would never come to Grafjell in return for her not being hunted down. But Rihya snuck into Grafjell to see her son. Things took a dark turn and Rihya would not cooperate peacefully and locked herself into a building until Ashna would allow her to see Erik. Melosa, Erik's older relative, told Erik to go to the inn and wait. Things went south. A fight broke out. It ended with Erikor running out after Ailil and Ashna had stabbed at Rihya, and Erikor got to hear his mother's final words as she bled out in front of him. (There was a lot of character development that stemmed from that moment.) solus godfather1 CthulhuPeople BrianAT16

  3. Eala going on her first hunt in the jungles of Riseport and being ambushed by a jaguar. Having to save Aryus Fuvur from death, and also try not to die as well. Actually, any of the jungle hunts. Tarantula hawk wasps were fun. Action! Hunting! Adrenaline bows pew pew!! Elz Mitch

  4. When Aracena failed the terms of her second pact with Jishrim, her spider mark consumed her body until every inch of his skin and hair had turned black. Fiery pain wracked her body and she writhed on the floor as she basically lost her soul to the Mad God. After her appearance returned to normal and the pain subsided, she tried to enter a pact with Silas and give him her soul, as a test. To her horror, it didn't work because she no longer had a soul to give. Michcat Naelwyn IceandFire

  5. Aracena insulted Aewin's wife once, and went well past the boundaries of polite conversation. Aewin lifted Aracena and dangled her over a sheer cliff face.Said he would throw her, but not enough to kill her. Just enough so that she lay broken and bleeding below. Then he would go to find her children and throw them over so she could hear them scream as they fell. But he'd do a mercy by them and throw them in just a way that they'd land on their head and die quickly. And when she thought the pain of laying there was too much to bear, and just before death finally took her, he would go down and use a healing potion to keep her alive. And drop her again. (I can't remember the exact wording. But it was something like that.) He let her go and she took off to her house. Aewin tried to come and apologize, but she wasn't really keen on hearing his apologies. Lannis

1. Niko alongside Kam and Ava decided it was a good idea to release a cannibal from Horror Island into the mainland so that they could go bar hopping with her. Thankfully, no one was eaten alive, but we didn't get to see what happens when a cannibal gets drunk. We still had tons of fun with the whole situation.

2. Remember the "I need a rug" poster that Cornelius put up in the crossroads? This was the result of my boredom and that Cornelius does not have the finances to get whatever he wants when he wants. So the poster detailed that Cornelius was going to pay 100 radiants for two or three pieces of carpet ICly. Later that day a guy by the name of Maceo de Courtnay showed up to Cornelius's hut and gave him a rug upon which he said that it was free of charge. That made Cornelius happy. After having placed the rug back inside, another individual by the name of Vesryn Xilleth also shows up to his hut with another rug because ICly that poster wasn't taken down yet. Vesryn like Maceo also says the rug is free of charge. So Cornelius now has two rugs for the price of none. Since that poster was still up I got a pm from a third person who was offering to Cornelius a rug too. That poster is down now because he would have had more rugs than square footage in his house.

3. The Eye's of Silas Over the Horizon's voyage part three was something Niko did when it was only two weeks after I was whitelisted. I loved every minute of it because Niko gained a lot of character development from that event and he got to slay zombies before it was cool.
Ddaug

4. I got to bring out my inner tactician for this one. Niko had to assume the role as interim mayor per say in Tambry when the zombie outbreak hit. I spent the whole time thinking of strategies to counter undead hordes and to make sure everyone in the city would be safe once they do come. Not to mention Niko also saved all the books in the Tambry library (which was about 100 books). Although it never got to see battle before the exodus, it was still fun building up all the defenses.
Hai_Paladin

5. This was also during the zombie outbreak. So at the time Cornelius wasn't going anywhere and I decided that I would kill him off by sending him into the zombie horde in Torsomme. I brought the avatar all the way down to Torsomme a few days before the event and I logged off. The next time I logged back, I did not realize what day it was nor the time so when I got on as Cornelius again, I spawned right in the middle of the zombie battle happening in Torsomme. A whole lot of undead later and Cornelius ended up joining the Anhald military as a peasant levy and he's been my second main since.

1. The rescue of the second half of our desert expedition in the Bastion events. Azure, Jaden and Ater have to go swim across a channel separating an island and mainland. In the middle of a sandstorm. Cause Sankera and the other half the crew ran off without them and got in trouble.
CloakedReaper Magiik Balatro
Sankera

2. The whole Aracena is crazy in Thiil campaign I'd call it. It was my first real IC development and many of Azures likes, dislikes and hates stem from the interactions he gained from it. Made friends, enemies and learned a lot about the world. A lot of my RP was cringey by my current standards but dang it was fun.
Niah Lady Alec Omikuji @almost everyone else on the server at that time.

3. The reclamation of Azerport. I organized the event but Bal, Paint and Ddaug basically took my idea and ran with it. What started as me simply wanting to give a city as big as Azerport a good final event send off (I didn't want her to have the same fate as Le Havre) turned into an event that blew me away. Folks who normally I never RP with said they had a blast and I like to think there was something for everyone in that event.
Balatro Ddaug Paint @Everyone who showed up and helped.

4. Exploration to Port Silvers old Cathedral. What started as me going to have RP on Azures whole being interested in SWIBN ended up with me meeting Tybalt, Murdoc and getting quasi involved with Marr.

5. My alt Edgar chasing his relucatant liege Akasha into a house in Arget. Where she promptly found Nylas The Ranger bumming in the attic making arrows. She then told him to not tell Edgar she was here and disguised herself as maneiquien. Edgar came up to the room and I rolled for detection against her stealth and lost, so instead of finding the very obvious Elven sillouete he just yelled at Nylas in Mok and looked elsewhere.

the fifth is the battle of azerport because seven of us beat thirty of them

Alright!

1. Playing as Rose, the RP I had throughout all of Rose's with Glados was awesome. The whole thing of a revenge based on past actions, something that truley shaped my character. Rose had been a whistleblower, which caused Eudo and his finace to spilt. The results was years of hatred from Eudo. It got to the point where everybody knew about it, and groaned everytime it was brought up.

2. Again playing as Rose, being with Kyle was fun. Kyle played as Murdoc, a gerneral in the Azerport Army. Rose ended up marrying him, and lived happily with him, until her death, and Murdoc leaving when the Exudos happened.

3. Anything with the Blackroses. I got so swamped with politics. First it was Yossi with Artsan, his Dragon worshipper. Then when House Silverian crumbled, Blackrose took it's place.

4. In ties with the Blackrose's, Scardrac became a huge thing. He was basically Eudo 2.0, but with lots of weapons. Rose uncovered Scardrac's plot (details of which I don't really remember) and saved Lady Blackrose, at the cost of her own life.

5. RP with any of the Gods, or Staff in gerneral. Specially Mich and Niah . First it was Silas who was a major influence, then over the years it became Jishrim. While I personally wasn't good at the sermons, people still thankfully showed up.

In no particular order..
  • Saving Albareth (MRPolo13 ) from a Demon in Old-Old Heavens Reach and then making our Indiana Jones style escape.
  • Battle against the Nether Titan with the Stormbringer.
  • In general all the battles of that Exodus war.
  • Battle of Breakwater was pretty neat.
  • The drawn out battles against the undead in the most recent undead war
  • Honorable Mention: While not a 'best' moment, it's certainly one of the funniest. There's also this that I cannot remember the context it was from:

Mich probably gets the most credit there for having Jishrim logged into Thiil and bringing the spoops, but I am glad I played a part. :D

This is an awesome positive idea :D I'll list my top 5 experiences too, just for the heck of it!
  1. King Seth's "betrayal". Seth_Jenkins wakerman4
The first time I experienced a Dwarven downfall (one of many) was when King Hrothgar 'left'. (He got banned and took his crew of 3/4 of active Dwarves with him). We decided the IC reason would be that he was sent away by Korog himself and that Thraall had burst out into clan-wars, and thus the Dwarves ripped themselves apart from inside. At the time, my character Krummi was trying to establish a democratic leadership, where he'd include also other races, like the hated Elves, into a new house: "Locun". Seth joined the meetings of this house and seemed an ally, until he took Hrothgar's throne for himself and exiled Krummi for being 'undwarvish', never to set foot on Dwarven Soil again on pain of death. This caused my character to start the town "Tahkul-Rimtar", a town for knowledge and racial equality. He even tried to set up a council that had 1 spokesman for each race, which didn't work in the end.
What made this RP so awesome?
I was very immersed at the time. Roleplaying for 2-3 hours straight a day, sometimes more. In the mean time if not roleplaying, I'd be constructing things for the house and writing up stuff. To be stabbed in the back all through RP, not being warned OOC was an amazing experience. At first, I hated Seth for it, but we talked it over and right there and then I realized the distinction between IC and OOC. He played it very well, in a political way too.
  2. The Great Book-wipe.
Krummi was a librarian at Tahkul-Rimtar. Back in the day, we had a book-worm plug-in. It allowed you to type in MC books. It was before the game-update that added books you could write in. At a certain point, the book-worm development team stopped updating it. As we moved from 1.2 to 1.3 (or whatever update it was), the book-worm plug-in couldn't handle it anymore and crashed. Something along those lines, but the thing was: you could read the titles of the books, but the content was gone. I've put hours on end reading and categorizing the books while other players collected and copied them from all over Altera. It was an OOC shock to me, that they were all gone. Staff and Player alike had praised me for my efforts to put all the scattered works of people into one place, and now that work was nullified.
What made this RP so great?
It was all the RP around this event that had a great impact on my character. I decided my character would be shocked too and would not return. As time went by, I had another character and I spent a lot of time changing Tahkul-Rimtar into a ruin. Since it would no longer be used because of all the knowledge being gone.
  3. The return of the Dwarves. BoredBrit SirLuamTehDoge Jazzper
I don't think I ever thanked BoredBrit properly for it. When I returned to HW, there he was. It seemed to me he was incredibly enthusiastic about bringing the Dwarves back to their former glory. I can't remember if he sought me out or if people redirected me when I asked about the Dwarves, but by Korog it was magnificent. Brit seemed to know every single thing about the history of the Dwarves of HW even though back then he was a relatively new player. I had seen the Dwarves rise and fall three times before and was just about to give it up, but he made me join in to try again. I think it was because I recognized a bit of myself in him. I saw how he single-handedly tried to carve stuff out and got help along the way from a few others. But it was his sole determination that seemed to keep his friends around him to help him raise the Dwarves to a higher level again. Very familiar to me. Later on, I found out it was not him solely working on this. There were others at the start of it all, who also helped sometimes: It was then that I met Jasper and Liam. I like to think of these three people as good friends. They welcomed me into a Dwarven hearth the moment I returned to HW and they are the reason I'm still here, honestly. (I'm not being sentimental, or maybe I am, they just need to hear it for once).
What made this RP so great?
It reminded me of the old days and it told me that there were still people out there who'd pull the cart. Who'd spend time and effort into making something great. Who had a vision and would stick by it. In the end, like all other times, the Dwarves fell. The magic of the Dwarves never lasts. It seems as long as there's nothing there, the magic is present. But as soon as there is a result, something magnificent made, the magic draws back and the circus moves away, no more excitement. But that memory will create the core of nostalgia and it binds people together OOCly, that is why it is in the top 3.
  4. The first days of Packman. cowo5 BoredBrit StartOmega SirLuamTehDoge Fishymatt Jazzper The Tottot Lirakitty Heie Puzlas Sir Saltington Niko Spooksy_ Snerus
I've met many people while RPing packman and it was this character that brought RP back for me. Not just one RP in particular on this place in my top 5, but all of those Quest Rp's I did. In my early days as Dwarven Character, I met a lot of people naturally and made friends. Later on with any new character, I had a lot more trouble with that. It seemed most people already had a set of people they'd RP with or just weren't interested. With the Packman, I relived those times and was able to make a lot of new contacts.
Why was this RP so cool?
Sending people off to adventure, hearing their tales at their return, it was just a great experience. These people might not know it, but noticing their enjoyment and enthusiasm about the quests I laid out was really rewarding.
  5. Royal Scribe RP for Queen Leminth Michcat
This definitely belongs in the top 5. My first character was a Dwarf named Krummi. I always had something to do surrounding him. It was an immense challenge to become noble, start my own region, get money for plots. Back in the day, you could work for it, getting 0.5 radiants per stone you mined. I always had my mind occupied to start new things with Krummi. All of that got lost after the bookwipe and I had to think of a new character. There was Rahm, and he was recording history at every single event hosted. After a while, he got noted by royalty and the Queen of Altera enlisted him as scribe. I recorded everything that happened during the server events and it was an amazing experience.
Why was this RP so good?
I was able to see all the major events of the server first hand alongside the most important figure of these events: the queen. I could come along at important private meetings with generals of several houses. I was at the front at each speech. I felt valued. And the books about these events are still out there in the world. So yes, definitely worth my time!
As I write, I notice a large change. As time went by, Rp has become harder to come by. In the early days, everything was about RP. People were serious about it. Nowadays, already a year by now, I notice it's more about memes and banter than RP. RP is no more a serious matter, but something to make fun at, joke around with. RP's don't just happen to me anymore. I have to ask about it, give a reason in OOC. I often get people talking to me in OOC what they plan to do or are doing in RP. I want to see and feel it through RP, not OOC, but it's just a changing trend and something I do not hold control over. I hope to get re-immersed again! If anyone took the time to read this huge wall of text, I thank you for it. I hope you enjoyed some bits :p

1. Conversation with Biel in the Thill library. Very thematic and fun, also got my first tips on my search for knowlege on magic.
2. Reclemation of Azerport Event with Azure. Fighting bandits to save scraps of history was the best.
3. Interaction and forming of a mini council formed to discuss the events of the Bastion Stones
4. Last two Eyes of Silas exploration events. Last one had an epic ending despite everyone dying a horrible death they won't remember.
5. Viewing the destruction of the Northern Kingdoms.

There are many more but 5 was what was asked for.

Edit: I take that back, number one has to be the freeing of the dragon!

I'm going to have to think long and hard about a top five, but, just to comment -

  • Battle against the Nether Titan with the Stormbringer.
I'm so happy you think back on that with enjoyment because that was one of the really hard ones to execute, and I'm glad it was 'worth it'. (Not the least of which being that with the Stormbringer gone I had to go with plan.. D-ish and that got us the.. haa.. the sojourn of el landship.)
