TO JOIN THE LEGIONARIES
Astrakhan is not immune from the dangers of the world!
Join the Asrakosian Legion and help defend Astrakhan and her holdings!
Apply to the military as a citizen and gain the following benefits in your service:*
- Increased pay!
- State-issued equipment!
- Advanced training and drilling!
- Land and certain tax exemptions!
- Recognition in the city Assembly, possibly as a Tribune!
Apply as an auxiliary and fight alongside your fellow countrymen! Honorable discharges after 5 Years service qualifies you for citizenship!
Special Positions Needed:
(Applicants get extra pay.)
- Engineers and Builders
- Blacksmiths, Bowyers, and Carpenters.
- Drillmasters, Logisticians, and Medics.
- Standard Bearers
- Anyone with skills in riding on horseback
Current Combat Positions:
- Skutatoi: Infantry. Apply here and recieve training in spears, maces, and swords.
- Peltastoi and Toxotes: Skirmishers and Archers. Apply here and receive training in the usage of crossbows, bows, javelins, and slings.
- Equites: Cavalry, including horse archers and lancers. Applying here requires you to already know how to ride a horse.
- Akritae: Looking for something less....militarily inclined? Join the Akritae and help stop crime in our city! Requires strict adherence and familiarity with the city laws.
*Only after five years of honorable service may a legionary gain these benefits. Desertion, dishonorable discharges, or early retirement (excluding cases of injury, be it physical or mental) will nullify one's record of service time.
OOC: Yeah, I'm trying to get more guards in the city. Join my dumb Byzantine themed club and get cool, fun titles, and maybe even like, idk, a toga.
