Brutus is old, Maceo doesn't expect to see people of that extreme age see too many more years.

You know, at least before modern medicine, it was living through childhood that the hard part. Infant and child mortality is what skews the life expectancy towards lower numbers. If you can make it to adulthood, you can actually live for a decent amount of time. Brutus could have another twenty years in him.
