Hero
A young Adelpha depicted by a commissioned artist. It's a part of a collection of the Empara family.
The tale of Adelpha Empara is a tale passed down by generations of Amazons. The woman is seen as a legend among
them and her memory coveted. To understand the Amazons, you must first understand her.
Adelpha was a citizen of Asrakos a long time ago, one of the youngest in a line of successful merchants. The Empara family had long been known as an exporter of exclusive goods from the town state, which garnered the attention of many of its enemies, as well as bandits and thieves. This eventually led to robberies and heists within the town, many of which were left largely unchecked. Adelpha herself was a rather influential figure within the acting sphere and lead many of the plays in the town.
During a performance of hers, a group of criminals stormed the open theatre intending to kill Adelpha. Her younger brother Aretos died in efforts to save her, though the actress didn’t escape without injury; she had been struck and the injuries caused her to lose her unborn child.
The grief and pain that Adelpha felt were too overwhelming for her, and so she left her job so she could recover. She was welcomed with open arms by many of the widows and grieving women of Asrakos, many of whom had suffered similar losses. Adelpha was horrified by this pattern and looked back to her plays and epics for solace, many of which contained powerful figures fueled by righteous revenge.
Archegete Adelpha in full armor. While a rare sight, this form of the Amazon leader caused much controversy.
Subsequently, the Amazons began to gain traction. More and more women were joining and more crime was taken care of. Naturally, this piqued the interest of many of the noble houses, the House Herenii being the first to officially endorse them. As they grew more, traditions began to be witnessed within them, such as a yearly parade held on the last day of Fogwater.
