Nid Arach - New Lands
Overview of Features

1649623170795.png

The New Lands are finally finished!!!

A lot of you have already ventured here before they were finished, explored some parts, and thus had a taste of what the lands were going to offer. Now that they're finished, the real fun begins. I would like to showcase all the features that these new lands bring to the table. Knowing where to go and what to find will definitely help increase the enjoyment of your experience in this strange land. The New Lands are an entirely new layer to Nid Arach on top of both the ground floor and the many caves/dungeons below.

These lands form a mysterious and enjoyable landscape to RolePlay in, allowing visitors to interact with the region like never before. While Nid Arach remains dangerous, these new land platforms are less so than the dungeons and dark places beneath. The NPCs you'll encounter up here are relatively peaceful in nature. While the threat of feral creatures remains at night, daytime trips in Nid Arach allow for more casual exploration and collecting of items.

One of the coolest things about these new lands (in my opinion) is that they're not all accessible yet. You will have to gather gap-bridger seeds, ladder plants, and other means to get to places nobody has yet been. On top of that, even the areas that are explored still have many secrets that continue to get overlooked. The NPCs here will be happy to help you along if you're looking for anything in particular, so make good use of them!

Come to Nid Arach during public events or schedule private events with me to experience this whole new woooooorld.
The general rules of Nid Arach still apply, refer to
THIS THREAD for more info!

Arachian Database
The Rusted Construct

1649427996319.png

This unfortunate construct has only been around for a short while but got all his parts stolen in Nid Arach.

It since replaced its parts with cheap iron, which in time has rusted so badly that the construct can no longer move.
Rusted, overgrown, and immobile, it has become a local database in which The Last Arachians have stored all their knowledge.

Functionality
The Rusted Construct 'Irrelevant' can identify Arachian items.

- Identify Arachian items and learn more about their history -

- To those who prefer not to deal with Jishrimites, it's a wonderful alternative to get information -

Modes of Transport
Getting anywhere fast

1649428314022.png

Nobody knows who constructed these ziplines, but boy are they handy!

Enhancing the Nid Arach experience by being able to quickly get to the place you want to go.
Zip across vast portions of this landscape, even being able to travel in both directions if you meet the requirements.

Other modes of transport, such as the mangonel and the plant seeds, may be used to quickly get from A to B!

Functionality
The ziplines can be used for fast transport.

- Anyone can use the zipline to go from the higher to the lower point -

- With the Agility Kit, you may also travel from the lower to the higher point -

- There is also an old mangonel that one may shoot themselves across the region with. Use with care! -

- Make smart use of plant seeds to bridge gaps or climb sheer cliffs. These seeds are essential for smooth travel in the New Lands -

Arachian Wildlife
Hunting for sport

1649428507356.png

There are many kinds of beasts and creatures in Nid Arach, not all of which are out to kill you.

Large frogs reside by the pools, lightning pincer beetles fly overhead and even Emberlarks have been spotted in the trees.
The Arachian Bats hang upside down during daytime and prowl the skies at night.
Not to mention those dog things and... the boss beast!

Functionality
Hunt and interact with the creatures you encounter

- All creatures have their own way of reacting to, and interacting with, outsiders -

- There is a rare boss creature that only the bravest hunters will be able to take down -

- Gorshank may be summoned for hunting advice at the sounding horn -

The Last Arachians
An order of peaceful Jishrimites

1649428692401.png

The Last Arachians know of the long history of this region, even from before the fortress was built.

They are a wretched bunch, missing limbs and looking sickly, but they're peaceful and willing to teach others their ways.
If approached correctly, they will give you hints to the location of powerful artifacts or other hidden gems.

Functionality
If there is anything you're looking for specifically, this is how you'll end up finding it.

- You may gather cryptic hints to find specific special loot -

- Their archive can be read inside this building, giving your character knowledge about Nid Arach -

- You may ask them about anything related to Arachian Lore and they'll answer truthfully -

Arachian Denizens
The friendly though often unsettling encounters

1649428902599.png

A few friendly faces remain in Nid Arach, though they're not entirely free of sin.

You may encounter these new folks and they will likely help when approached right.
Some have quests, others will try to rip you off, it's a dangerous and exciting world!

Functionality
They're nice distractions and diversions if you're not visiting with one set mission in mind.

- Object; objects to whatever you say, but knows a lot about objects -

- The Tailor; a tailor that can't stop producing banners and clothing from human hair -

- Adventurers; they sit by their tent, they're a sign that there's a cave/dungeon nearby -

- Gorshank; a hunter that goes after creatures in the new lands, may be summoned at the sounding horn -

Loot Points
Statues, Fallen Adventurers, and More

1649429603456.png

All across the New Lands, Jishrimites have paid tribute or... Accidentally became tribute themselves.

Statues, fallen adventurers, and yet undiscovered objects often have pieces of loot to gather.
There are also ore veins with rare HC ores and fertile soils with plants and seeds to collect.

Functionality
A way to collect more items than just by getting your daily loot.

- Loot points dress up the landscape nicely -

- They create points of historical significance, landmarks, or the scene of an encounter -

- Some are part of The Last Arachian's riddles that lead to powerful artifacts or historical relics -
