Thorious claiming all Marr's land as his own because it was House Azerwinds lands which was part of the empire. Whatever used to be of the empire is claimed by him.

He was also stating he doesn't want Engem influence there.

I missed the part where Janos thought Skeira was a mortal man, mainly because I forgot what he specifically said but it was more or less like:

"so Skeira's a god? what god is he again?"
"she."
"... she was the god of war, along with Kilrog and Valor?"
"oh yeah. her"
"how quickly do you humans forget?"
