Finished [Summoning] a Pilgrimage for Love Lost and Road Obscured

Gaby

Lord of Altera
Once more
I summon you
Out of the past
With poignant love,
You who nourished the poet
And the lover.

-Priest/Priestess/Religious Leader: Serella Caedit
-Public or Private: See below
-Temples or Shrines Involved: Tambry and Thiil, to the Cathedral
-Have you spoken with the town/region owners and are they aware of the risks to their region involved?
spoken to Antilogy and IceandFire. they have both agreed.

Dates: Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday
Time: 5:00PM EST
(Earlier/Later on Saturday, due to Melosa and Calcifer's Wedding)

"A pilgrimage is a journey or search of moral or spiritual significance. Typically, it is a journey to a shrine or other location of importance to a person's beliefs and faith, although sometimes it can be a metaphorical journey into someone's own beliefs."

this is personal, and thus, no others are invited to join. however, the faithful can, if they see her making this pilgrimage, follow. it is by no means a secret what her intentions are.

she has lost her way, and she hopes by devotion that she may find it again.

I summon you now
Not to think of
The ceaseless battle
With pain and ill-health,
The frailty and the anguish.
No, today I remember
The creator,
The lion-hearted.

Map and Schedule
(note, plans are gonna change, unless literally nothing special happens, but I bet something special will happen.)
(flower symbolism from here http://www.livingartsoriginals.com/infoflowermeaning.htm )

Good Friday, April 3 (finished)
Time: 5 PM EST
- at Tambry, Serella will march through the streets, adorned in:
Daisy (purity, innocence, loyal love), Arbutus (I only love you), Campion (youthful love, I fall victim), Lilly (mourning, innocence in death), Calendula (grief, despair, sorrow),
and singing a mournful song.

- From Tambry, Serella will march to the cathedral, taking the upper road along the Crossroads, recalling the pain of loss, continuing her song throughout the walk.

- at Port Silver's wall, a prayer is uttered,
"may we never forget the loss of those we have loved. may their sacrifice be forever remembered."

- another prayer is uttered at the Crossroads,
"may our lost and lonely hearts find purpose in love, and in song"

- a final prayer is uttered at the Shrine to Sallana,
"I am lost. I am alone, and have only you. may you guide me and protect me, mother Sallana, as you did before. to my promise, I will hold. I am forever in your debt."

-from there, she leaves the bouquet of flowers, and returns to Tambry, finishing her plaintive song in the trading town.

Saturday, April 4 (finished)
Time:
- from Thiil, Serella will march solemnly through, adorned with blossoms of:
Apple (love, youth, happiness), Stephanotis (happiness in marriage, desire to travel), Arbutus, and Myrtle (wedded love)
and will be singing a joyous song

-from Thiil, Serella will walk to the cathedral, taking the lower road across the river, continuing her song throughout the walk

- at each bridge, she utters the prayer,
"at the crossing, I see the joys of Newbirth, the passing of time. the birds, the frogs, the trees and all wild beasts, rejoice in love. today, a new union was forged."

- a final prayer is uttered at the Shrine to Sallana,
"all the beasts and all people find their love upon this Season of Birth. they rejoice at the coming of life, at friends, family, and lovers. yet I am alone, and take this walk alone. there is little love in my own heart, and I fear I may never love again. in love, there is only, you, Mother Sallana. it is strong, but not enough. help me find my heart again."

- from there, she returns to Thiil, finishing her plaintive song

Easter Sunday, April 5
Time: After Melosa and Calcifer's Wedding
- from Tambry, in early morning (RP-wise ofc), Serella will march through, adorned with flowers of:
Iris (faith, wisdom, promise in love), Dandelion (faithfulness, love's oracle), Bluebell (humility, constancy, gratitude), and Black Rose (farewell, rejuvenation, rebirth)
and she will call through the streets,
"rejoice, all faithful, for a new day dawns! The prison of frost and snow melts, and the wild lands are reborn, with the joyous birdsong of Truebirth, of the season of birth! come, all faithful, and join in pilgrimage, to witness the splendor of nature, witness your reborn hearts!"

-from there, she walks along the road to Thiil, climbing the steps to the village, singing a quiet song, and repeats her call in the mountain village

-from Thiil, she walks along the lower road, through the river, and murmurs a prayer at the bridge:
"may this crossing mark in our hearts a new day. may it mark the end to the cold and dead."

- she will turn at the crossroads, and make a third call to the faithful, before walking the final road to the cathedral

- at the cathedral, she says to whatever crowd,
"I thank you for joining me, upon this new day. may we all find our new path, upon this newborn life. to the patron of mothers, goddess of beauty and birth, I will hold my vigil, but you are free now to take your own path of devotion. you may join me in prayer, if you please, or you may return home. I will remain here until I find my answer."

- she offers to the shrine to Sallana a new bouquet, utters a final prayer,
"Sallana, my journey is at an end. in contemplation, I seek an answer, and wait for guidance. how may I find this love I seek, and how should I carry it, so it does not slip from my heart?"
and remains there, until all crowds have dispersed.

Songs and Ambience

Ambience: http://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/springWalkSoundscapeGenerator.php
it's customizable. just to add that extra spring feel.

Lyrics (English, Gaelic, Pronunciation)
Fear A Bháta
Curfá:
A fhir a bháta is na horó eile
A fhir a bháta is na horó eile
A fhir a bháta is na horó eile
Mo shoraid slán leat gach áit a dtéid thú

Theid mé suas ar an chnoc is airde
Féach a bhfeic mé fear a bháta
An dtig thú anocht nó an dtig thú amárach?
Muna dtig thú idir is trua atá mé

Curfá

Tá mo chroíse briste brúite
Is tric na deora a rith bho mo shúileann
An dtig thú inniu nó am bídh mé dúil leat?
Nó an druid mé an doras le osna thuirseach?

Curfá

Thug mé gaol duit is chan fhéad mé 'athrú
Cha gaol bliana is cha gaol ráithe
Ach gaol ó thoiseacht nuair bha mé 'mo pháiste
Is nach seasc a choíche me gus cloígh' an bás mé.

Curfá

The Boat Man
Chorus
Man of the boat and no one else
Man of the boat and no one else
Man of the boat and no one else
My safe blessing with you everywhere you go

I went up to the highest hill to see
If I could see the man of the boat
Will you come tonight or come tomorrow?
If you do not come between, it's sad I'll be

Chorus

My heart is bruised and broken
And tears flow from my eyes
Will you come today or will I expect you?
Or will I close the door with a tired sigh?

Chorus

I gave you my love, and I cannot change that
Not love for a year, and not just words of love
But love from the beginning, when I was a child
And I will never cease, even when my death bell tolls

Chorus

Lyrics (Gaelic, English)
Neansaí, mhile grá
A Neansaí, 'mhíle grá, a bhruinneall 'tá gan smál.
Go bhfeice mise'n t-ádh 'gus an séan ort.
Ba ghile do dhá láimh ná cúr geal na trá
Ná'n eala 's í a' snámh ar an Éirne.

Is glaise liom do shúil ná braon beag den drúcht
Is binne liomsa tú ná na téadaí
'S mur' n-éalaí tusa liomsa titfidh mé i lionn dubh
'Gus cuirfear insa chill 'do dhéidh mé.

Is iomaí sin guth mná a chluinimse 'ngach aird
Abhus agus taobh thall den Éirne
Go Corcaigh na gCuan 's go Béal Ath' na Sluaigh
'Sí Neansaí 'thug bua ar a' méid sin

A Mhuire 'gus a Dhia, nárbh aoibhinn deas é'r saol

Is aithris di gur buartha atá mé
Aithris di arís nach gcodlaím féin
aon oíche Le harraing atá trí mo thaobh deas.

Aithris é dá súil, aithris é dá cúl
Aithris é dá méin mhaith chéillí
Aithris é dá ceann 's dá béilín atá binn
Gur ghiorraigh sí go cinnte mo laetha'.

Nancy, My Precious Love
Nancy, my love, beautiful woman without blemish.
May luck and fortune accompany you.
Your hands are whiter than the foam on the beach
Or than the swan that swims on the Erne River.

Your eyes are more beautiful than a dewdrop
And your voice sounds prettier than harpstrings
And if you don't run away with me, life will be over
And because of you, they will bury me.

I hear the voices of many women everywhere
Here, there and on the other side of the Erne River
Even Cork with its ports and the city Ballinasloe
Nancy is the most beautiful of all of them

Oh Mary and my God, wouldn't we live well
If we could both be together?
On a nice, peaceful afternoon, my beloved and I
Whispering things to us on the deserted plateau.

Carry my letter to kind Nancy of the braids
And tell her how saddened I am
Tell her that I don't sleep at night
That a sharp pain punctures my side

Tell it to her eyes, tell it to her hair
Tell it to her good and sensible mood
Tell it to her head and also to her sweet mouth
Tell her that she has managed to shorten my days.

these two songs will be the songs Serella sings at the beginning and end of her walks. (Imagine the gaelic is elven)

You may want to put [Summoning] in the title. ^_^
how could I forget the most important part. thank you. might want to tag @Michcat as well, because I forgot that, too.

(it's actually not a summoning. its a devotional act with a bit of direct pleading to the goddess, which means it counts as a summoning less than most summonings. if that makes sense)

40 Minutes.

Serri has gathered together flowers of Campion, Arbutus, Lily, Calendula, and Daisy, and made her way to Tambry.

30 minutes,

Serri has arrived in Tambry. rain falls as the sun rises, and she sings a sorrowful song as she prepares the flowers into a necklace and crown.

Gaby

Lord of Altera
the walk is finished. four prayers has Serri made, in between her mournful elven song, that spoke of awaiting a fish.

she spoke to Bronn Westergard as she just set out from Tambry. the conversation was short.
she spoke to Tybalt Rhett concluding her offering of the wreath to Sallana. this conversation is much more important.

Elrowen was in the cathedral for some reason and I think he was trying to parkour in the background of a serious conversation.
weirdo.
