[Sellswords] The Company of the Black Banners

THE COMPANY OF THE BLACK BANNERS

The Black Banners are mercenary company that can be hired for assassinations, guard work, escorts, and torture. Any freeman in Altera may hire the Bannermen for any contract he can think of, provided he can pay. In times of war, lords may call upon the Bannermen, and will be made to pay for every battle the company must fight in. The company fields heavy horse and mailed infantry, all trained in the lance and the hammer or the sword. (OOC - The current company has eight active members. All soldiers are guaranteed to wear at least munitions plate and be trained in combat.)

PRICES
Murder - 5000 to 7500 Radiants
Assassination - 5000+ Radiants for a Merchant
8000+ Radiants for a Lord
10000+ Radiants for a King
Guarding - 2000 Radiants per day
Escorting a Target - 5000 to 7000 Radiants
Framing - 5000 Radiants for one target
8000 Radiants for a rival party
10000+ Radiants for a King or Lord
Torturing - 5000 to 8000 Radiants
Debt / Tax Collection - Negotiable share of the debt / tax
Special Jobs - Negotiable price in Radiants
War - Negotiable price paid per battle fought

No contract that the company can complete with their set of skills is turned down. The price varies on the risk. If a Bannerman dies or is wounded on a contract, the price is increased. At least twenty percent of the contract's price must be paid beforehand.

RULES
1 - Be respectful. The men of the company risk their lives for your contract.

2 - The contract is final. There are no followup kills if a murdered target is revived. The company may be hired again for a second murder.

3 - Always pay. Those who refuse to pay lay their land, possessions, and life forfeit to the company.

4 - (OOC) All prices are OOC and IC. If you cannot pay OOC you do not have the money in character.

5 - (OOC) Make sure targets do not live in peaceful regions or hire the company for attacks on peaceful events.

To hire the company, a client must find acting commander Peter of Hallon and negotiate, send a letter to the company (OOC - Send a PM over the forums.) or find land where the company is camped. A Bannerman may be found by his black cloak or pure black tabard, and the company banner is a pike bearing the skulls of the slain and a pure black flag.

Just an idea have you considered taking gold bars instead of actual radiants. Most folks I know of need their radiants to expand on regions, buy things at shophub etc. With a gold bars you might get more contracts as I know plenty of folks have ton of gold bars in storage that have very little use even though IC they should be worth a lot. You would still get something that would have OOC value (Although granted much less than actual radiants), tons of IC value, make more IC sense for the prices you charge it would make sense you would be paid in something like this than 10,000 itty bitty coins, also OOC you develop a value for gold bars. Also you can have IC chests full of gold bars to show of your company's wealth.

Again just a thought.

We already charge gold bars. We charge all types of metal. Even scrap. The radiant cost is the price, but it can be paid however people want. If you give us a hundred cows to kill someone, we'll do it, as long as that meets the price in radiants.

I want a character to be a part of this in some regard.

Combat Training - Incredibly amateur, though wishes to learn to more of an extent; is the most skilled with stealthful or deceitful tactics, such as poison or assassination through use of hidden weaponry.
Why You Wish To Join - Had a bit of RP with some Black Banners recently and it was much fun. This would be a new and rather... rough scenario for Eudo to find himself in. And I want to develop that character in new ways, since nobody seems to be needing a diplomat around now. He could also function as a manager in seeking out and receiving contracts from people, in theory.

Also, it's some sexy armor.

Then I suppose the next logical question is do you go by current market value (Which currently works on what two folks deem fair at any given moment in my experience)and is prone to fluctuation or do you set your own radiant prices on items?

I know a goat who would hire you, but he has no money to do so, also, seven days is all it takes to get the money oocly with voting to kill a fool, this scares me.
