hard to keep something low key when there are public rumors
Unless the 4 or 5 people who went to the portal themselves told about it, I can't imagine who would've told these public rumors. Unless we're just saying random NPCs showed up just to tell people.

*Azeari Araico is somehow incapable of leaving his house, his figure as still as a statue, sitting in his study despite the short distance to the event site. He is ordered by his player to sit still, although his ears are perked at the news of a disturbance so close to his place.*

OOC:
I'm too busy (partying), but if anything happens that people would hear of in the nearby areas (or hear/notice/feel, you name it), I'd very much like it if it was put out on the forums besides being put as a general 'worldwide' emote or the like, as the event sounds really interesting despite the fact that it appears the noble houses (repeat: noble!!!) would take the risk of traversing to such a place for the sake of an event rather than realistically having it checked out by others. I mean, magics for kids, am I right?!?!? kek.

you can but you're not welcome in our camp
As an outside observer (don't feel like dying against extraordinary odds)- isn't everyone supposed to work as a team? It'd be that kind of attitude at least IRP that will cause everyone to lose. It'd be wise to share what room, supplies and weapons you have with the people who show up to help you.
