Echoing down the rocky mountainside and adjacent valleys, in the lands south of Blackrush, villagers and passing travellers tell of frightening noises at night. A daemonic sect was found within an abandoned temple, and its occupants were put to the sword. Survivors recount stories of warriors clad in strange metals and hides, accompanied by a monster of the woods, wielding magic and swords with fearsome prowess.

Some time later, smoke rises from various settlements in the deadlands. In retaliation, the scarce remnants of the cult had gathered its strength and marched out, to raze Onora and its surrounding outposts to the ground.
Their retributive campaign did not last long, however, as the infernal disciples were chased across the steppe by a horseman of Valiant. Every one of them was driven off or slain—justice eventually being delivered, yet at the cost of innocent lives and ruination.

Early one afternoon, the sounds of a nigh-orchestra of instruments escapes from the ballroom of the Eldpoint Palace, seemingly in some kind of rehearsal.​

Loosely and poorly made maps of the Eastern Kingdoms have been distributed to some of the major cities.
Each is scribbled with incoherent swathes of ink. Some spots seem more highlighted or circled than others, perhaps signifying greater importance. A note placed next to them, instead written in cursive and beautiful letters:

Rumor spreads quickly through the streets of Storm's Landing; another murder within the Kraken's Den,
the assailant being none other than Branko Callas - who was seen fleeing covered in flames.
Three bodies were carried out, only two belonging to the living.
Jack works diligently in cleaning the bloody massacre off the tavern floors.​

The sundering of clouds and the glow of what seemed to be a temporary, miniature sun is rumored to have formed above the entirety of the Evenfall Academy.
Covering the entire academy in a shower of makeshift daylight during one of its nights, briefly.

A group comes back from a sparring excursion, some shaken, some not. None of them harmed, but with a vivid story heard as they pass.
To the north west of the Landing, by the twisted willow tree, they see a shadow of a hulking, hound-like creature amid mutilated corpses. Wolves.

A trail of blood, then, leads them further west into the hills.
At the end of it, a man, headless, freshly torn apart.

The creature is nowhere to be seen.

Through word mainly originating from the people of Linistel,
it is said that the lord of Wellspring has passed away during a mining incident at the settlement.
A cave-in is mentioned to have been the possible cause, at the moment that the lord was personally evacuating most of the remaining miners.
The late Lord Bluestone leaves behind a widow and two daughters, with the widow since taking over management of Wellspring as his successor.​

Horrific news spreads across the central provinces of Altera as word reaches that raiders attacked the normally peaceful city of Astrakhan, massacring those who resisted before robbing and enslaving anyone they could get their hands on. Those fields that hadn't been harvested were burned, and those left in the wake of the surprise attack sit fallow in rage and sorrow as the raiders moved up river..

Not long after the seaborn raid on the city, several travellers and wanderers would mention the inreased ammount of light horsemen patrol along the rivers in the region.
Perhaps the citizens of Astrakhan are seeking to strike back at their wrongdooers.

In Mockingbay, citizens begin to notice the Queen has been making less public appearances, with King Leighton tending to many of her usual duties around the city. After a rocky few years, the people worry for her stability once more. Whatever ails her, there is no word of it from the palace, but fewer visitors.​

After many months, the Queen makes a sudden reappearance in the public eye. When asked about the reason for her absence she cites personal health without much elaboration. She appears quite healthy however, and especially happy, with plans to host a party in the near future.​

Recent rumors around the Landing talk of a few good Samaritans fending off a group of bandits attacking a merchant caravan, taking a few of them
prisoner and saving the three merchants. Some even say that the leader had ended his own life...?

A scuffle in the streets of Palmwood between three hooded figures happened in the mid-afternoon, and one of them collapsed to the ground, bleeding from the stomach.
One of the figures fled with the bloodied knife, their hood dropping to reveal them as a blonde elf.

Heralds throughout the lands of Aethel Deira spread a proclamation:

"By command of Her Grace, the Silver Queen, Miss Lana Wake has been formally
named the Lady of Evenfall, and granted lordship over the lands of the Academy.

She has been appointed to the Silver Council of Aethel Deira, and shall be known
as Lady Lana Wake within these realms."

Rumors of a bandit attacking a noble family just outside the Landing being saved by a passing by party spread, along with
the name of a new bandit group cropping up in the Cerulean Expanse... the Gray Band.​

Followed by Charity's light, the Queen and a small party return from the woods in Mockingbay with the missing boy, alive and recovering after being preyed on by spiders.
They also carry the corpse of a man who was found in the same place. The queen makes considerable attempts to identify the man and find any family he might have nearby before arranging a funeral for him.
A formal warning is given to the citizens to take caution when entering the woods as to hopefully avoid any more deaths by spiders.​

A half-successful assassination was almost stopped by a group of taverngoers in the Kraken's Den Inn... some say the targets were two of the Eldpoint nobility...?
Rumors even say one of the assailants had managed to escape...​

A regular meeting between the guilds of Eldpoint broke down into fighting between several noble families,
each accusing the other of being responsible for the recent attacks on their families.

Guard patrols in the noble and council quarters of the city have increased, and wagons into the city
have come under increased scrutiny, though Guard Captain Elleria continues to reassure residents that
the threat within the City walls is minimal.​
