IG NAME: Chuiden
CHARACTER: Yelena
PROFILE: { Link }

PATRON: Ignis Synnove

TIER: T2

SPELL POINTS: 4 (2 + 2)

ARTIFACTS:

[ Veritas ]
DESCRIPTION
: A translucent white and gold piece of metal that is warm to touch. In its neutral state, it is a small rectangular prism, holdable inside the palm.
PASSIVE: Veritas can passively take a shape of jewelry or adornments, forming itself incorporeally around the attuned into a desired color and shape such as a ring, bracelet, necklace, etc. When in this form it burns as a collective wisp of moving flames that the attuned is unaffected by, but is as hot as a candle to others; it wraps itself around those who intentionally touch its flame. It otherwise tickles those unaffected by the heat.
[ABILITY]: BLESS | The attuned reaches out to a target (within 15m) and blesses them with the grace of Ignis. Veritas splits and fires itself into another wisp of flame and light that acts to support her target, granting them a step advantage on the next defensive Soul roll that day and allows the use of the artifact's passive to allow it to take an ornamental form. This may be used as a reaction to an incoming effect. It can't be used for sparking rolls. This can be used thrice per day, recharging with the dawn.
ATTUNED TO: Yelena / Chuiden

TRINKETS: None

PASSIVES:

[ Universal ]
[ Inherent ]
|| PROVIDENCE ||
The blessed’s soul is warded by their faith in their Divine. If something tries to possess them, or they’re targeted by an effect that is functionally identical to possession, the blessed may roll a d6 save to resist it. If they roll their tier or lower on the d6, the possession fails and has no effect. They are additionally fully immune to any attempts to lay claim to their soul (in terms of it being trapped, imprisoned, or otherwise by some entity. This is not expected to come up much in RP, but exists for flavor). For curses or afflictions like Vyrism or Spiritblessed, they may resist it outright or optionally roll a possession save against it.

|| NATURAL ALLIES ||
Certain creatures recognize the Blessed of certain gods and behave differently than they would to other mortals, so long as hostility isn’t shown to them.
[ T1 ]
|| SPIRITUAL WEAPON ||
By ritually praying over a weapon for one hour, the blessed may imbue it with some measure of the divine influence. The weapon will glow with the strength of torchlight in a color thematic to the divine, and intangible foes or foes that are otherwise immune or resistant to attacks from mundane weapons always take some amount of damage from successful attacks with it. Only one weapon may be imbued at a time. For bows, the effect applies to all arrows fired from it.

[ T2 ]
|| BLIND FAITH ||
The blessed relies wholly and unquestioningly in their faith in times of confusion, and may substitute Soul for Mind when rolling to resist mental effects.

[ Ignis Synnove ]

[
T1 ]

][ A fiery glow appears in areas of the body in times of heightened emotion, adrenaline, or during spell casting. This can be the eyes, the veins of the body, or the hands/fingertips.
][ The blessed emits a comforting warmth to those near, as if they are the source of a small campfire.

[ T2 ]
][ If wounded, their blood appears as liquid light for all of a minute before it returns to its usual appearance, with even impacts (being hit, bumping into something, etc) glowing like light waits below briefly. Scars naturally heal pure white.
][ They are able to see in darkness up to a range of ten blocks in any direction as if they held a source of golden light.

SPELL LIST

[ Universal ]

[ T1 ]
PURIFY
Divine
: Universal
Action: Prayer and the holding of a container of water.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: One day.
Spell: The caster blesses the equivalent to one cup’s worth of water and changes it’s qualities. It must remain in a container, and contact with said container must be held for at least ten seconds to fully turn its contents. The contents may be poured into another container but will turn back into water the next day. This cannot be stockpiled, for any liquid will revert back after the duration. The following can be made by any Blessed:

Holy Water: Undead, Vyres, Mages, Fiends, and Heretics (those who worship something not of the Pantheon) are burnt by this water like it has the same properties of boiling water. It causes nasty burns, but these burns will heal over the span of three days and leave behind no markings, not can the burns become infected. If consumed by any individual not those it burns, it eases and heals: headaches, minor bruises, stomach upsets, scratches.
Lifeblood: This blood can be used to satisfy any Vyre as sustenance, tasting wonderful and lightening their mood. This blood does not burn anyone, not holding the same properties as Holy Water. A small circle made of this liquid has been known to ward away supernatural entities such as ghosts/wraiths for a limited time, as if the blood itself reminds them of the living. It can be smelt as normal blood would be, and may trigger Feral Vyres in the same manner. (Note: Vyres cannot live on this blood, it will satiate half their feeding requirement at most. This is in the same category of Bloodvine, for example.)
Divine Oil: This oil cannot be used to harm another, but it becomes scented and ideal for the use of anointing in ceremonies. If the container is lit, it will burn for one day as a small fire with hues thematic to the specific divine (up to the player), though will extinguish if removed from the container and return to water.

__________________________________________

ILLUMINATE
Divine
: Universal
Action: An uttering of; “[Divine], let them hear me.”
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: Five minutes.
Spell: A halo of light forms behind the caster’s head, the colour thematic to their deity. For up to five minutes, those in RP chat range will be able to hear them clearly (providing they are not behind a wall or so on) and consider them paying attention to. They may instil a faint sense of Calm, Fear, or Courage within the audience.
Note: Should a higher tier blessed cast this spell in the same radius, it will over-ride the lower one.

__________________________________________

VISION
Divine
: Universal
Action: Touch, or the offering of an item thematic to the divine (holy symbol, coin, bone, letter, etc).
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: One minute.
Spell: By touching the target or offering an item, the caster wills the scene of something vaguely thematic to their divine in the mind of another, though it is not distracting enough to hinder them in combat or tense situations. With enough focus, the target can try to tune it out, but it cannot be entirely ignored. Can only be used on the same target once per day.

__________________________________________

DIVINE WORD
Divine: Universal
Action: The prayer of, “[Divine], carry my words.”
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: Must be asked and answered in the same day.
Spell: The caster is able to send a message to another through divine means. It can travel any distance and be heard moments after the spell is cast, but it must be on the mortal planes and will similarly only work on mortal beings. The caster must know vaguely the person they are communicating with, be it their name, face, or alias. It works on who it is intended for, unable to be accidentally sent to another. This is a universal language, heard and understood by each as clearly as their native tongue. Should it be used on the dead, they hear only silence.
Rank I - T1
The caster can send one single word to their target. They cannot be given a word in response.

__________________________________________

FEAST OF THE GODS
Divine
: Universal
Action: Prayer. They must keep their hands on the location on which to summon it for one minute.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: One hour.
Spell: The caster summons forth a platter of food that can feed up to three people. It can be cast upon an existing surface (table, for example), or the floor. Eating divine food will restore some energy, ease minor pain, and give a sense of warmth and comfort from the divine in question. Once the spell ends, everything flickers away.
This spell can be cast at 1SP per person, up to three.
Ignis; Feast of the Flames
Golden tableware, utensils, and goblets form that are befitting of any noble court, detailed with engravings of known nobility and phoenixes. It sits upon a layer of white silk that shimmers like fire, though gives off no heat. A feast like any generic feast hall would serve appears, fit for a King.

BAPTISM
Divine
: Universal
Action: Prayer, an offering to the divine, and touch.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: Permanent.
Spell: The caster offers something thematic to their divine (an animal, a corpse, golden goblet, sword, etc - It should be notable) and prays whilst marking a symbol upon an infant anywhere from newborn to three years old. This marking can be in water, ash, blood, etc. and does not denote where a marking (no bigger than an inch long/wide) will form. The marking location is at the choice of the parents OOC, and whilst most markings will be replaced by another, it is possible for a secondary mark to be present as a 'birthmark' only (in the cases of two parents of different faiths). Clarify with Divine staff if it is applicable. The traits of baptism can fade at a time decided by the player of the one baptised, with the mark remaining or similarly fading.
Note: This can be cast on a pregnant mother instead, in which the child will be born with the marking already applied, automatically applying to both twins/triplets if applicable.
Ignis; Mark of Kings
The offering disperses into embers that float harmlessly about the air before vanishing entirely. A mark appears upon them as a golden sun or crown that shimmers in the light. Children who grow up with this mark may show traits of being a little noble in bearing, and seem less prone to lying. Fire sometimes fascinates them.

[ T2 ]
STEED
Divine
: Universal
Tier: 2
Action: Uninterrupted prayer lasting one minute
Cost: 2SP
Duration: 24 hours
Spell: The blessed summons a mount thematic to their divine. For all intents and purposes it functions as a well-trained horse, with no additional abilities or unusual movements, and no particular utility other than for getting around. It can only be summoned outside, or in a place otherwise open enough for it to be readily ridden around.
Ignis: A horse, embers drifting from its mane and tail, and and scattering beneath its stride.

DIVINE WORD
Divine
: Universal
Action: The prayer of, “[Divine], carry my words.”
Cost: 1SP
Duration: Must be asked and answered in the same day.
Spell: The caster is able to send a message to another through divine means. It can travel any distance and be heard moments after the spell is cast, but it must be on the mortal planes and will similarly only work on mortal beings. The caster must know vaguely the person they are communicating with, be it their name, face, or alias. It works on who it is intended for, unable to be accidentally sent to another. This is a universal language, heard and understood by each as clearly as their native tongue. Should it be used on the dead, they hear only silence.
Rank II - T2
The caster can send up to ten words to their target, and they can hear a response of up to as many in response.

[ Ignis Synnove ]

[ T1 ]
RESTORE ORDER I
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 1
Action: Vocal prayer.
Cost: 0 SP
Duration: Concentration.
Spell: The caster instills order in a ten block radius. Unattended objects minorly out of position are set right: chairs might be pushed in, tilted paintings might be set straight, etc. Cacophonous noises such as yelling or the din of battle sound softer to those within, providing some measure of calm and focus amidst chaotic situations.

__________________________________________

CAUTERIZE
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 1
Action: Prayer.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: Permanent.
Spell: The caster holds a hand over any surface wound up to two inches long, one wide/one deep, and seals it closed with holy flame that hurts as cauterizing would do. A burning hand print is left behind for one hour before it fades away, leaving behind a sealed golden-hued scar with optional ember-like flecks over the original wound.

__________________________________________

UNWORTHY
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 1
Action: Vocal prayer, heard by the target.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: One day.
Spell: The caster curses the target, and deems them unworthy of the light or warmth of Ignis for the rest of the day. The target will struggle to keep warm, and their surroundings always look at most dim and gloomy regardless of how well lit they are. Any hot food or drink becomes cold the moment they try to consume it, and those who stay too close to the target will begin to feel the chill.
The effect can be resisted by rolling Soul+Determination against the caster's Soul+Determination. Magical means of seeing in the dark function as normal for the target.
Note: Those able to see in the night will not have an issue with their vision, and they are not so blind they cannot see what is near (particularly in regards to combat. This is not an instant blinding spell.)

__________________________________________

EMBER OF IGNIS
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 1
Action: Prayer and the offering of something gold, which burns away when the spell is cast.
Cost: 0 SP
Duration: Permanent until recast.
Spell: The caster imbues a candle, sconce, or lantern with an ember of their Divine. This light will never extinguish unless willed by the caster, though they may only have one flame at a time active. It glows a pure white with a golden hue.

[ T2 ]
KINDLED
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 2
Action: Prayer and touch of the target.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: One hour.
Spell: The caster protects their target from the cold, even to the point that a blizzard does not manage to give them frostbite and only makes them uncomfortable. The target will find that their eyes and veins glow a faint golden hue for the duration of the spell, and they exude some warmth though not enough to entirely protect others from the same temperatures. This can only be active on up to two individuals at a time. The target will feel drained of energy and hungry after the spell ends, as if they’ve burned off more energy than they would’ve otherwise.

__________________________________________

SANCTUARY OF LIGHT
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 2
Action: Prayer and touch for 30 minutes.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: Permanent, until another location is made.
Spell: With a kneel and verbal prayer, over half an hour the Blessed wills an area of a 15 block radius to be illuminated by the hand of Ignis, a place in which the sun always shines even at night, with great marble pillars and arches. Any who enter the area feel themselves warmed through comfortably, and at ease from the darkness and suffering in the world. Those characters more in line with darkness or natures that work against Ignis feel actively shunned by this place, like the fires burn too hot and the sun is blinding. (A good example is the general Jishrimite, but it is not limited to these, you know the type). Flames are of a golden or white colour and are never extinguished unless the spell is recast. Lies cannot be uttered in this place, to do so burns the tongue, but silence can be held.
Note: You can build this yourself or ask another for help in doing so. This can be removed if placed in a place that conflicts or offends another divine, by a blessed member of said divine. (i.e placing a Jishrim variant in a Shalherana grove).

__________________________________________

FLAMETOUCH
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 2
Action: Prayer.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: 5 minutes per point of Soul.
Spell: The caster wills a hand, even if covered with a gauntlet or fabric, to be aflame in a golden hue. This fire will not burn them, nor what they wear on the hand, but can be used to burn any other or to use as a way to ignite other materials. They may will the flame to hover idly about their head to help illuminate or return to their hand so long as it is within the duration. Whilst it moves about the head, their emotions and thoughts are hidden from those who would pry, any who attempt seeming to find only a sort of golden light or the sound of a roaring fire.

__________________________________________

UNBURNT I
Divine
: Ignis.
Tier: 2
Action: Prayer, touch of the target.
Cost: 1 SP
Duration: 15 minutes.
Spell: The caster protects themselves or another target from the burning of flame. The whole body becomes resistant, the eyes and veins glow golden in colour for the duration of the spell. Anything worn is additionally kept safe from the flames. The target will find that once the spell concludes they will have a lingering rash upon the body from the heat, and feel a somewhat unpleasant stinging sensation, as if they’re a bit too hot, though this will not last more than an hour.

[ Tier 3 ]

+ 2 months since Tier 2
Yes

+ 10 total prominent deeds
• [1/07/2023] Yelena partakes in a tourney joust in Storms Landing in part to raise money for her church. In the arena she meets Lord Mathieu, and observes a confrontation between him and Maple (and Adda). She is knocked out in her first round in a close match with Mathieu, but they continue to have pleasant discussion about Ignis. She gives him her favor in the form of a sweaty piece of cloth. After Mathieu is defeated, her favor went to Laicelem, who defeated (Suhkoiza) to win the joust.

This event showcases Yelena's dedication to the church and her commitment to promoting the values associated with Ignis Synnove. By participating in the tourney and dedicating any potential winnings to the church, she contributes to the well-being of her religious community and aligns herself with the nobility and glory associated with her divine. The joust becomes a platform for her to interact with lords and influential figures, and spreading the influence of Ignis.

• [Notable] [1/27/2023] Yelena visits Evenfall for a lecture on history, only to find it delayed. She engages in a conversation with Lana and Cael, as well as (Ophelia); they discuss about Arcane Anchors and the opinions of some divine towards it. Ignis is not impressed, and neither is Yelena in some regard. She is able to see one and is described how it works by Lana. Lana gives Yelena a few gifts after hearing about her message to the Realmsguard on her quest to find her lost convent. Yelena and Lana talk privately about the future coexistance of mages and the divine and the development of an organization that trends toward the restriction of mage practice; Yelena opens up with Lana. They both hope that one day there is a solution to their strife.

Yelena sees the discussion about Arcane Anchors as an opportunity to express her concerns to a significant arcanist about the potential disruption of the divine order. Her disapproval aligns with Ignis Synnove's dislike of practices that may upset the established balance. Yelena reinforces the divine's stance against unchecked magical practices.

• [2/9/2023] Yelena goes to save her convent from certain peril. She is joined by Tiek and Eirlys; they travel on the road south from Hearth and into the desert. Upon arriving, they find their convent in battle with a giant scorpion. They defeat it, and treat the wounded. Yelena attempts to convince Peter, the leader of the faux-pilgrimage, to return. She manages to convince the rest of the convent, save for him; Yelena defends Tiek from Peter's cruel view of her. She leaves him rations so he does not die as they bring the convent home. They return, and manage to convince an exhausted and nearly starving Peter to return home, leaving behind the artifact.

• [June 2023] Yelena organizes the Convent of the First Light, dedicated to spreading theological and moral virtue; pledged to simple and frugal living detached from outside moral standards, sustained by a dynamic energy drawn from sacramental grace and nourished by a systematic prayer life and service towards the good of the realm. They work for the nunnery, orphanage and convent in Hearth.

• [Meaningful Ritual] [6/25/2023] Yelena has bonfire at Hearth, where she gives a sermon, sings Ignis folk songs, and worship to Ignis with Mathieu, Pohk'urz, and Hiedric. She gives a tour of Hearth (w/ Faith). Pohk'urz wishes to settle in Hearth and Yelena accepts him.

• [6/29/2023] Yelena visits the landing, only to find a group of cultists attempting a ritual. She, Faith, and Eris, go to stop them. Xiqu joins them. They take a cultist prisoner and slay an undead dog. They find a note leading them to a further ritual. They go to investigate, and manage to slay the zombies being risen there and apprehending another. They recover some mundane artifacts from them.

• [Ticket Event] Yelena investigates a shrine to Ignis Synnove in the desert and recovers relics of her faith, attempting to discern and translate text of Lavo and Old Arcturian. The information recovered from the shrine are sacred treasures that connect her to the ancient roots of her faith. They are tangible link to the traditions and teachings of her religious heritage, strengthening her own spiritual journey and deepening her understanding of the beliefs she holds dear.

• [2/5/2023] Yelena attends a sermon at the Lodestar Ruins, seeing Mathieu, Erwin, Sydri, (Albert) and Leonhardt (Ironwood), who hosted. Leonhardt speaks of reform, and they speak about Ignis, whether it was right to decide to kill divine, and more topics about their faith. Yelena inquires with Erwin about his past judgement with the Realmsguard and in Eldpoint.

Yelena's attendance at the sermon demonstrates her commitment to spiritual gatherings and highlights her engagement with fellow believers, promoting unity within the community of Ignis Synnove. For Yelena, it was an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the interpretations of Ignis Synnove's teachings by other followers. The discussions around killing divine beings trigger reflections on the necessity and morality of such actions, challenging her own understanding of her divine's tenets. Inquiring about Erwin's past judgments indicates her curiosity about the practical application of Ignis Synnove's principles in challenging circumstances. Yelena sees these discussions as crucial for the growth and cohesion as they grapple with complex moral dilemmas and seek guidance on navigating the complexities of their faith.

• [Notable] [6/15/2023] Yelena visits the Tower and listens to what Matthias has to say in regards to recent events. He addresses those in audience his plans to eliminate and kill those who are working with the demon Drandoden and hold fiends within them. Yelena speaks out to also consider that those with fiends were once people and that the light can still offer salvation to them, and that they should not be sought after indiscriminately. She postures herself as an ally to his cause as she would attempt to execute persecution in another way. She also sees Frost in attendance, who offers their support. She is curious to another that spoke out (Marian) and their history with Matthias. She disagrees with the plans of Laicelem to capture fiend and force their exorcism, for what she's heard many still turn back to becoming fiends through this path. She warns Matthias to not rely on fear, for it goes in both directions to ally and enemy.

Yelena sees this moment as a critical juncture where the application of Ignis Synnove's teachings can make a significant impact. Her disagreement with the plan to forcefully exorcise fiends stems from a concern for the well-being of those afflicted and a belief that salvation should be offered willingly. Yelena's warning to Matthias about the dangers of relying solely on fear reflects her understanding of the delicate balance between authority and compassion. By positioning herself as an ally to Matthias while advocating for a more nuanced approach Yelena aims to exemplify the teachings of Ignis Synnove to emphasize the importance of order, truth, and the potential for redemption even in the face of demonic influence.

• [7/1/2023] Yelena, along with a group of others: Hiedric, Fronslin, Lacielem, Halvar, Xiqu, and Leofwine, go to Queensport to assist in the eradication of large white-haired creatures that have been infesting the area; they also encounter giant spiders which they slay. She suggests to the noble Hiedric that he recommends each of their locations are burned. They also discover some kind of curse on the spiders that lay there. Fronslin informs Yelena of a phenomeon known as petranatural darkness, which can be driven back by the light. She heeds her advice.
For Yelena, this mission is an embodiment of her duty as a follower of Ignis Synnove. The eradication of creatures threatening the community is a practical application of her faith's commitment to order and protection

• [7/2/2023] Yelena partakes in a jousting tourney to raise funds for her church in Hearth. Yelena showcases her willingness to go to great lengths to ensure the financial stability of her church. Recognizing the importance of maintaining a place of worship and gathering for her community, she takes an active role in securing the necessary resources to sustain and enhance the religious services, programs, and outreach efforts.

For Yelena, the jousting tourney is a means to actively support her church and community. While the absence of victory may be disappointing on a personal level, Yelena recognizes the greater significance of her actions that work in favor of her convent in contributing to its overall prosperity and reputation, particularly in defeat, and aligns herself with the nobility and glory associated with her divine.

• [Describe a meaningful practice] Yelena's journey has led her to develop a unique understanding and outlook on her faith, diverging slightly from the more vengeful approach towards heresy. In many events, Yelena has been outspoken about her perspectives on heresy and tolerance. Rather than emphasizing vengeance in the face of heresy, she leans towards a perspective rooted in mercy and compassion. Yelena believes that by fostering understanding, open dialogue, and offering guidance, individuals can be steered back towards the path of righteousness. Her approach seeks to preserve the order of the world by illuminating the transformative power of forgiveness and redemption, demonstrating that the Light's grace extends even to those who have strayed. In particular, she attempts to convert Reinhard back towards the light on several occassions; Her encounters with Reinhard and their failed attempt to guide him towards the path of light have made her question the effectiveness of harsh persecution. She speaks with arcane users on paths back towards the light; fueling her curiosity and deepen her understanding of the intricate interplay between good and evil forces in the world and the relationship between divine and arcane magic. And within several conversations she embeds contemplation on the importance of discernment, considering the circumstances and motivations that drive individuals towards darkness. She explores the concept of forgiveness and the potential for redemption, embracing the idea that even those who have done wrong may still find their way back to the light and under the guiding tenets of Ignis.
