Jasper, may I ask what program you use? I've always wanted to get into computer drawing myself, but never was satisfied with things like paint or photoshop (lol.... I have no idea what to use)

I use photoshop lol. I recently updated to a newer version. Completely hated it at first! But i got around to learning the new tools and now I'm in love! It's always good to push through the frustration when learning new programs. But if you find one comfortable, that's great! I hear Sai is really awesome.

My gosh this is really beautiful, do you have anywhere else you post your art to? I'd love to browse :3

An hour and some. I don't spend to much time on them like I do with actually projects. I usually think the difference between a professional and an amateur, is patience. I mostly lack patience lol. D'oh.

And I honestly don't mind if the characters don't look as preteen as the flowing shapes of the mermaids, think of the Nakam as an artistic challenge of sorts ^w^

I don't know if I can do that, I'm not very good at teach over a computer, but there are great tutorials on deviantart!
I think you're looking to learn how to have a cell shading style. (like animes)
