While that is a fine point, good sir, allow me to present a rebuttal:
I like my money.
The less I spend, the better.
That being said, I do support the developing companies of games I like by purchasing new games a lot of the time, I'd say that about 80% of my library are new game purchases.
However, I live in a home with a smaller sibling, and also a father who enjoys playing games himself.
And, unlike some others, I like to share my things with people with similar interests.
What Xbox one is doing is making us pay AGAIN just so someone else on a different profile can use the game as well.
This is mad, and pretty evil on their part.
I would be fine if every game were to be console exclusive, so long as my brother or friends can join me on my console at home. But to have it be PROFILE exclusive is just an outrage. And unless this is changed, I'll be taking my many monies elsewhere~

Extremely troubling, I agree.

However, it's not that much different from PC games. Your profile can be used on more then one xbox, so your games library can theoretically travel with you.

Personally I already have to share my xbox live account/profile as well as some PC game profiles.

Gonna be PS4 for me. I think during the Micrososft presentation they forgot to mention you can play games with it too! Sony's presentation showed some really cool games - and not your usual Fifa 28 and Madden 4003 either.

Besides.. Sony just announced there will be no DRM so you can freely rent, buy used games or swap games with your friends.

Microsoft have lost the plot.

Aye.

Many gamers seems to have switched from XBOX One to PS4 now due to the recent announcement and reveals from both Microsoft and Sony. I've even seen "loyal" XBOX players who used to hate the Playstation switch over to PS4 instead of getting the XBOX One.

I think the PS4 will be a bigger succes, unless Microsoft bumps in with a big thing changing people's decisions.

If I were to buy a next-gen console, it would be the PS4. But I'll stay with PC gaming for now :p

It is stupid to make decisions yet, lots of things will change between now and the release. If anyone wants to sponge money it will be Sony, because the entire company is doing shit. They can look at what Microsoft are doing and say they will do the opposite.

It's hard to trust big console developers because no matter how much they lie people will buy it anyway.

Well if Xbox one turns out to be 10 pounds of poo, stuffed into a 5 pound bag, I'll keep playing my Xbox 360 for all it's worth, more PC games, and/or switch to PS4.

But right now I also feel it's too early to tell. Hopefully they will flesh out the details at E3. By the way I work near where E3 is held and walk down there every years to see the spectacle. Usually they have some interesting stuff set up outside. One time I came away with an arm full of swag.

Just my little tidbit on sharing;

I rely heavily on sharing. I constantly swap games with friends and it's even come to a stage where a small group of us will decide on what games we'd like and each buy a different one.

But I do think that Microsoft are hyping up E3, here's to hoping that it doesn't flop. I haven't resigned myself to one console yet, E3 will be my deciding factor.

The eyes of the gaming world are upon E3, pressure's on lads.

Xbox One launching in November for $500

Microsoft today announced during its 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo briefing that the Xbox One will launch across the world this November at $499/€499/£429.

In addition, Microsoft revealed that gamers can reserve an Xbox One Day One Edition today, though further details about the preorder program were not revealed.
The Xbox 360 launched in 2005 for $300/$400. Sony has yet to disclose pricing information for the PlayStation 4. The company's E3 2013 briefing takes place tonight at 6 p.m. PDT.

That pricing strategy is extremely unfair on European users, who at the current exchange rate would have to pay just over a half of the actual price in Pounds.
