How lawless the Landing can be sometimes. The tavern, especially.
Late at night, two bystanders flee the tavern in haste, and soon after, the crackling of fire and screams of anguish emit from the building.
A scuffle - words and arcane magic, exchanged between the upper and lower floor.
The sounds and sight of flames, however, are soon replaced - a blizzard unfolds within the tavern, almost as if a portal to the frigid tundra was opened: snow coating the place, howling wind sounding out and chilling those present to the bone, not to mention the frenzied flight of freezing rain and snow in every direction.
Then suddenly, a mild calm as the weather-bending stops - before the backdoor flies open, a chase ensuing.
The night sky is illuminated with the figures of Crow and Callas, climbing in altitude - black and white wings of pure fire growing from Crow's back, and a grotesque pair entirely crafted of blood from Branko's.
On the ground, Laicelem engages with a man who'd ran out with Branko, launching sharpened steel first at Crow, then at Laicelem.
The man soon writhes painfully on the ground, combusting from an arrow fired by Laicelem's bow.
Arrows fly up from the ground at Branko. It's hard to tell which land and which don't.
What's clearly evident, though, is the pair in the sky exchanging blows, one with a glimmering longsword, the other with a dark polearm.
The final blow equally apparent, as the fiery wings shrink in size, Crow's form falling unceremoniously to a rooftop below.
Soon after, his body seems to consume itself, purple crystals covering the corpse from the inside out.
What a strange, yet entirely characteristic, occurrence for the Landing.
