May be a bit Off-topic:

Nintendo has announced Pokemon X and Pokemon Y! THe global release date is October 2013, and I must add that the graphics changed a lot. But see for yourself:

Note the use of original pokemon (psyduck, pikachu, dratini) and the use of music from the original games.

You can't beat the classics.

I haven't gotten any of the Gen V games, either. Platinum is still my main pokemon game right now (aka where I store all my important pokemon).

I'm really just not feeling the newer pokemon like I did the old one, I just cant really make connections with them, if that makes sense... >.>
But, I'll give it a try!

I can emphasize with you, I couldn't connect to them as well. I must admit the latest editions were not as good as gen 4

Stat inflation, hardly any "unique" moves anymore, OP legendaries, two starter pokemon, essentially,......
Easy to see why Gen V isn't as good.
