Your not alone. I've never been a fan of magic. Mainly because I can't see a way for it to not become OP. (And I like you, content with no-low levels of fantasy. Feels good to accomplish thingswhike on the same playing field as every other normal person.)
It's rather impossible to debate a system's power-level without being able to see it.

Cogitation, at least the original version, was built in mind to be at par, or in many cases far under, what martial characters could do in combat. Really the only reason people would want to go into it was for the flavor and the creative application of the spells. If you were wanting straight power, it would have been better to have fought with a sword instead. I had figured most magic schools were going to be like that...

>Inb4 we get another magic floating city
Ugh, that was a thing wasn't it.

Am I the only one who is content with low-to-no levels of magic? I appreciate the re-working but magic always throws a metaphysical wrench into the balance of power in any political or combat RP.

Maybe... maybe I'm alone in this thought process?
I hate to bug you, but you understand this is a fansty server? I can't say that magic wasn't obligable for everybody at one point in time, since I only came here right before the Courroption ended.

To my knowledge, there's only, well, was three people who knew magic, blarg, nwalme, and mitch. There might be a couple scattered ones that I don't know about, but to the server's population of. . . 40? That's an extremely small number. Considering now it's only two people, I'm surprised they haven't been flocked with requests.

I understand sometimes magic isn't the best thing to include in a server, since it is medival. I've seen some servers that don't allow magic, and for me, there terribly dull.

Your not alone. I've never been a fan of magic.

As what somebody said, if the Staff do inculde magic being more out there than it has before, I'm hoping they'll add rules and restritions so that players can't eaisly abuse it. Even if introducting magic to the players will dive bomb and crash and burn, that doesn't mean the Staff can't re-work it and release it at a later date.

And in all honesty, if players can't handle magic, I vote back to the old system, where only two people know magic and it's hard to learn.

Agreed, Unless Anti-Magic was more common then magic

We are a Low-Fantasy server. Some people, myself included think the fantasy should end with the fantastical map and the extra races, while others think we should have more fantasy elements (magic, gods things, ext).

So does this mean I should stop working on Floata-Magna?

To my knowledge, anti-magic is being worked on, and as well, nerfing should be occurring to prevent astronomical power levels.

Dont qoute but I think the only way to kill him is the orb/gem/whatever in his head, but if you break it, it blows up. . .Like. .a super atom, from what I've heard.

Alongside this, the only mages we've seen so far who can actually practice magic have been the heads of their areas.

I'm rather sure students are never intended to reach magus levels of power.

If it doesn't work anyway, it'll probably be reworked, guys. This stuff was watched closely before, should as well be now. If not, closer.

To be fair, that wasn't the first floating city, heck I used to live in a floating wizards tower.
OG Hawklight days, if I recall correct. Maybe not. I'm not as old as I boast to be.
