Yep. we completely resolved our argument with the mountain dudesFrom what I've seen on this thread when there was a border disagreement like with @mineturtletrap and @Tybalt they handled it peacefully. Or with @ACU20 with the mountains and Renatus. The only bickering I've seen was when some of the staff came on and started this debate.
The thing is, they can still point to there home on a map, but it is under the sphere of influence from senatoor.but I didn't claim that for Falandraal???
I claimed it for the caparii/forest elf tribes living in the jungles?
so, you know, a new player wanting to play a caparii/forest elf from a small village deep in the jungle can actually point to their old home on a map?
Guys, I can delete this thread if you want. All I meant to do with this was cement current RP claims for better clarification to help spark RP. Also, to clarify, Engem claimed so much due to them wanting space; seeing as most the world hates them
Nah it is only like two people so far who don't want the thread. i find it very interesting and bolsters the Rp.??
"Everyone hates us, we better stake claims on the majority of the most populous landmass now"
This feels a lot like the shallow power grabbing I just ranted about. Why would they be under Senatoor influence if they don't follow Senatoor law or have Senatoor-provided public services? Do you have guards out there to keep the place clean of bandits? What gives you the right to arbitrarily say that someone's town is in your control? The thing is, they can still point to there home on a map, but it is under the sphere of influence from senatoor.
Fine then, we have already sent an exhibition up there to plan out a new town, it will be made soon. This feels a lot like the shallow power grabbing I just ranted about. Make sure to observe server rules, e.g. the one about how close you're allowed to be to other towns.Fine then, we have already sent an exhibition up there to plan out a new town, it will be made soon.
It's mainly to destroy maps and create/set up as much fuss as getting to Hound-ru as possible. You're less likely to invade a state if it's more larger than yours??

We'll that vast land of plains the Engem probably uses it as hunting groundsMhm. If new people come on and see the land they wanted to build on is claimed, it'd discourage them. We want to make sure there's enough for everyone, not just the loudest voices and the grabbiest hands. I mean, seriously, the Engems do not have the manpower or settlements to claim an area of land that big, and to say they do is so laughable no other organization would take them seriously. Same goes for Senator and the other huge, huge claims. People would actually burst into laughter if a house with no manpower tried to call dibs on a continent. Much more realistic is the Ayeras claim and the Lonmar claim, since the areas indicated actually have towns inside that can reinforce the claims legitimacy.
Just going to bump this... seeing as it seems like a great idea, works with the rules, it's hard to cause arguments over and it would actually be helpful for people who want to start a new town, because they can see where they can and can't build without permission. Why not, instead of deciding and arguing claims, make a map with regions outlined as "Sphere of influence"? This can be decided by the rules Sally linked earlier that seem to be the official server rules.
That was the original plan. Someone want to lock this thread and remake it with this in mind?Just going to bump this... seeing as it seems like a great idea, works with the rules, it's hard to cause arguments over and it would actually be helpful for people who want to start a new town, because they can see where they can and can't build without permission.

With the permission of Somnastra, I am posting a map with the rough details of all region influence - the included regions being the ones owned by the factions that have commented here (Or were shown on previous maps.)
The areas of influence are not exactly precise, but they are based on the algorithm of Server Rules and the regions themselves. I have shaped the areas of influence with the nearby landscape borders (Mountains, Rivers, Forests, etc.)

From here on out, I simply ask that any map of "territories claimed" be accompanied by a map similar to what Michcat has posted, which shows the actual hard boundaries of regions. And that server builds are not claimed or encompassed.
This way, if people who are new to the server find the maps, they see one which is basically what people are saying is theirs, plus what they actually have priority on. That way no one is discouraged from trying to develop their own RP.
Please and thank you~
