You walk upon cobbled paths across Aethel Deira's peaceful valleys and hillside plains within the Cerulean Expanse. Across the tor from Keg's Hearth, just a five minute walk north of the Silver City of Eldpoint itself, you gaze upon a mystical sight. Your senses pick up the subtle, yet very present, smell of roses. Too much stone to be a manor; too odd and undefended to be a castle... surrounded by fields and fields of glowing roses. At night, they illiminate the land as the clocktower lights up like a beacon beneath the stars above.
Evenfall Academy is a place of learning and study. Proudly inheriting the largest collection of books in Altera from its predecessor Frostwarts, along with the largest known collection of artifacts from the Ro'van Museum of Kegs Hearth and donations, the Academy stands to be a bastion of knowledge and historical preservation.
The aim of Evenfall Academy is to continue the preservation of knowledge.
Artifacts shall be displayed and given proper care.
Old books shall be preserved whilst new are added to the library to continue an evergrowing collection.
Multitudes of subjects can be taught with a great number of Tribunes of various subjects.
Sparkings and spell training are allowed with facilities on the grounds, with proper precautions.
All of this combined has the sole goal of giving scholars the tools and means required to excel at their occupation/hobby.
OOCRULEOFPRESERVATION: As a love letter to Hollowworld's lore and in pursuit of scholarly RP with no strings attatched, there are strict rules in place in Evenfall Academy.
Absolutely no theft of artifacts or books are allowed. We may explain this by a strong presence of Aethel Deira guard, though it is not required. It is only a short walk from Eldpoint. Any items donated to Evenfall Academy cannot be taken by another and will remain on display until the owner of the object deems otherwise.
This is to assure prosperity of scholarly RP in safety, as well as the sanctity and rightful pride of lore item owners.
EvenfallHierarchy:
Curator: The Curator title comes from Candlewood's Circle head, to which Lana is the first Curator of Lore and, in theory, whomever takes over after Lana should also take the position of Curator of Lore in Candlewood by extension. Whomever is Curator lives in Candlewood and is the custodian of the collections.
Ephor: Ephors were Tribunes that passed the Trial of Wisdom, becoming permanent members of Evenfall's staff to aid in the preservation and growth of the Academy. They are carefully chosen individuals, as an Ephor takes over when the presence of a Curator is lost, becoming next to inherit the Academy. This is done to prevent the fate of Frostwarts: inactivity and, by extension, stagnation.
They are also permanent members of staff that can make others Tribunes.
Ephors are generally held in great respect.
Tribune: Tribunes are members of Evenfall Academy by association or desire to teach. These are individuals across Altera that are either reached out to and agreed or those that asked and became accepted. A Tribune is decided upon their expertise.
Students: Generally speaking, anyone that visits Evenfall Academy is considered a student.
Individuals are added to the points system automatically for acts or simply attending lectures.
Rosa Arbor, meaning "Rose Tree" from Old Arcturian, is a massive tree magically altered from a Karri tree by Lana Wake. It is a mighty, imposing tree which can overshadow large structures. The original of which could be seen from Keg's Hearth, despite a Tor dividing.
The tree's wood is reddish brown with thick bark, making it difficult to cut into initially. It's strength is required to hold the weight of the tree, as the thick roots grow deep. Such a tree can only grow where there is ample supply of clear water, such as a river or lake. Branches are long and commonly grow nearer the top of the tree, below the crown. It is ideal for birds and small critters like squirrels to live on, due to the ample fruit and height.
The canopy of the tree is akin to a giant rose. The leaves are red with the texture of rose petals, although absurdly larger. Giant red petals are a common sight in the surrounding area of this tree.
The tree emits a ‘rose’ smell to the surrounding area.
Upon the tree grow large round delicious apples that fall every late Summer (Sunbright to Ghostmoon). They contain bright red round seeds that are more akin to nuts than seeds (like cashews). Both make for good snacks, the apple being juicy and a large apple and the cashew tasting sweet, nutty and woody.
When they begin falling from the tree, it can cause injury due to the height in which they fall.
To grow a new Rosa Arbor, one needs to gather a great many of these seeds as they will combine and grow large together as one entity. Planting a single seed will grow a small, tiny version of the Rosa Arbor that does not produce fruit and has a high likelihood of dying, although can be maintained like a Bonsai tree.
Due to the extreme nature of the tree’s size and height, the art of pollarding can be done at great risk. This is how the Evenfall Academy gathers firewood. The wood of the tree is akin to mahogany when sanded down, which can be used for furniture, arts and crafts. Traditionally, all the signs in Evenfall are made of this wood.
LoreNotice: Any attempts to raise saplings must have the Arcane Team informed.
Bonsai Plants of this do not require arcane approval.
The Glowing Rose is a type of red rose that glows. It originates from shrub roses that are remarkably similar, though without their arcane counterpart. The glow persists after the rose has been cut, although fades as the rose itself wilts, as the glow is a natural counterpart that simply produces faint light that will perish as the plant does too. The glow remains after Forever-Bloom Balm is applied.
Notably, the thorns of this rose are dulled too.
The flower has been reversed in evolutionary advantage by design. These roses spread rapidly, twice as effective at reproducing than normal roses and carry much pollen so that bees may thrive. However, due to their weak thorns and oddly tasty flowerheads, they make for good food for animals and produce good teas. The tea in question tastes sweet and flowery, which glows faintly in the liquid until consumed.
The reason for this alteration is because Evenfall Academy is built near Verdant Valley. Queen Amelia requested Lana find a means to not distract the hunting grounds in which may threaten the Theodran way of life there, thus on the western lands of the academy, Lana makes meadows of glowing roses so that herbivores may be attracted to the more ‘noisey’ location of the wilderness (nearer the Academy) to feast, which in turn may attract carnivores.
Named after Lana’s husband, Linden Grapes are unique deep red grapes that grow as part of a vineyard for Evenfall Academy to produce its own wine for its own students.
The grape itself does not taste nice. It is small, crunchy, has a thick skin and still has seeds inside. Even animals may consider spitting them out, despite the brief sweet flash, due to the chewy skin. The grape was not meant to be eaten alone. Instead, it is designed by distilled and turned to wine that Lana made to try and mimic the Sallana Wine from the Sacred Vineyard spell her husband uses.
Unfortunately, divinity is beyond mortals- especially in matters of Holy Wine. Instead, the wine tastes unique as its own through arcane perfection.
Iridescent Slugs were in small numbers upon Evenfall's construction over the Underthing ruins, however, following the creation of Glowing Roses and a few having escaped captivity from within the Academy itself, the Iridescent Slugs have began living around Evenfall. They tend to stay clear of the Academy proper and instead live around the outskirts, along the base of the cliffs in shade and along the hillsides towards Kegs Hearth or Verdant Valley.
The death of Raelur weighed heavily upon Lana's mind, whom during the Ivory War, inherited both Frostwarts in Halbed and Aesi's Museum in Keg's Hearth. She swore, in the name of her close friend, that when the Ivory War ended; she would build a new place of learning in Raelur's honour. The location of which would be very near to the site Raelur both died and was cremated.
The construction of Evenfall Academy began in the beginning of Fogwater 2309 under land grant by Queen Amelia Rose. Originally constructed upon Amborarosa (Elvish for "Hill of Roses"), the construction site briefly held the name 'Ambrosa' when the Academy was little more than a little Inn and what is today the main hall. When the library was built next, the founding members Lana and Kublai sat down and decided upon the name 'Evenfall' after agreeing they should have a "star-like name."
In late Ghostmoon, only a month later, the bulk of the construction to the exterior had been finished though the interior was not furnished.
Keone of the Makani became the first Ephor of the Academy by being the first to pass the Trial of Wisdom on the 4th of Ghostmoon.
The Evenfall Academy point system inherits the idea of Frostwarts requiring a great amount of points to graduate.
There are various ways to earn points, as well as trophies to earn along the way.
1 Point-Attending a Lecture
Simply, you gain a point for attending an Evenfall event
1 Point-Attending a Sparking
Being there for someones most vulnerable moment of uncertainty is trust enough to earn a point
1 Point-Learning and showing a Custom Spell
Mages can only gain eight custom spells of their own, which makes 8 points max over the course of several months
1 Point-Publishing a Book and having it in the Library
Depending on the quality of the book, you can gain extra points too!

Exemplar Rose A small statue of Earkstone, resembling a rose coming out from cracked rough earth. It is given to anyone who gains eight points. "Examplar Rose, gifted to [name] for their academic ascertainment in our new era. May your mind bloom."
The first versions of Exemplar Rose were given to those that attended Lana's Lecture 8 times and said 'Lana Silveira.'
Xóchitl Award A small smooth statue resembling Xóchitl (( So - Chi (like in chill but without the "ll") - Till )), Lana's pet Axolotl, standing upon a watery base. It is given to individuals that Lana believes has helped Evenfall individually, as a personal thanks. "The Xóchitl Award, gifted to [Name] for their worth as a true scholar of Evenfall Academy."
The first versions said "The Xóchitl Award, gifted to [Name] for their worth as a true scholar to the Circle of Lore of Candlewood. Lana Silveira."
Wyrm's Ward A small statue of Earkstone, slightly hovering above a base by glyphs, an Empyreal Wyrm circling itself. A mighty sky dragon-serpent of mighty magical prowess. It is given to those that are successfully Sparked on Evenfall's grounds. "Wyrm's Ward, awarded to [name] for entering the Arcane from Evenfall's safe roots. May your magic aid and harbour us all."
Magus Award A small statue of a meditating forest elf, Kopii Grey- the former Magus of Formistry. His tattoos visible on face and body emit mist, blue when all else is stone. Known for his kindness and wisdom. In deeds, he (with Leofaren) cured the Ashen Blight permanently using spores across the Continent to remove harmful infection, an effect still working today. This award is given to Mages that Spark new students (whom recieve the Wyrm's Ward) in Evenfall. At the base slab is engraved: "The Magus Award, to [name]. Wisdom and care shall guide your proteges, your sacrifice ensures the future of our new era is bright and brilliant."
Precursor Award Statue A small statue of a smooth-carapace Precursor, holding a stick engraved with Precursor patterns. It is given to anyone who attended any of the events during the Precursor event-arc. "To [name], for the aid in uncovering the mystery of the Precursors for the first time in history. Thank you. ~Lana Silveira."
Precursor Genesis Award A large statue of Miststone, showing a spiked-carapace Precursor of blue holding a spear engraved with Precursor patterns, the spearhead made of the same blue as the carapace. It stands upon an engraved block where many carapaces lay fallen, just like how they were found in the archeology sites. "To [name], whom vanquished ignorance and solved the mystery of the lost race. The truest of scholars and an achievement to never be forgotten. On behalf of Altera: thank you. ~Lana Silveira."
Raelur Fen'Shal's Genesis Award is on display in the Precursor Museum.
Dancers Trophy A beautiful carved statue of Archblossom, glowing bright from the grains, in the shape of one of the two Dancers from the Dancer Constellation. Together, they face one another, dancing as the stars do. It was given as a trophy reward to the two partners that won the Opening Ball's dance competition. Upon it reads: The Dancers Trophy, awarded to those that graced the Evenfall's Ball of 16th Winterfeast 2309 with their waltz, energy and rhythm.
Silver Crown Award The Silver Crown award is a small Earkstone trophy of a feminine Elven figure wearing the legendary Silver Crown, representing Queen Leminth. This trophy comes alongside a silver circlet with Old Arcturian inscription on the inside. These two awards were given the winner of 'Best Dressed' of the Opening Ball, voted for by the Tribunes.

Edit: Whilst the Academy does not open until the 16th of December, you can still earn points and the Academy itself is accessable due to the large library being public. However, the displays are not yet finished.

Whilst the Academy officially opens on the 16th of December, the place is already alive and beyond my wildest dreams. The largest- and growing- collection of books and artifacts in Altera. This would not have been possible without all of you. Do you know what joy it is to wake up at 4am to look at dynmap to see people RP'ing in your own library?
